You Have It All - A New Prog Rock Adventure
We're excited to follow up our first album with something really great. Follow us and be a part of this exciting journey!
"If their latest song, "Beautiful Light", as well as their first album, Time and Space, are anything to go off of, You Have it All may very well be one of the best albums of 2016." – Progarchy
Come with us on this journey as we create our second full-length album, You Have It All!
About the album
You Have It All is centered on the 15+ minute title track. It’s a strong, uplifting piece made up of several parts. The album will consist of 7-8 tracks totaling to about an hour in length. It will contain some powerful tracks such as “Conduit” our first instrumental piece, and the long awaited crowd-favorite “Nothing Wrong”, an anthem of individuality and freedom. In the mix will be some prog-ballads such as our new single “Beautiful Light” and a story of love-lost-but-found-once-more in “And We Tried”. The final track will be the grandiose 9-minute “Flowing With the Change”, which deals with acceptance of the past and looking into the future with exciting possibilities.
The iconic David A. Hardy, the world's oldest living space artist, will once again create the artwork for our album.
To bring you up to speed, this was the cover of our first album:
Here are some "mock-ups" of what the new cover may look like using Hardy's previous works:
Rich Mouser, whose mixing repertoire includes Spock’s Beard, Transatlantic, Neal Morse, as well as Lobate Scarp's debut album Time and Space, will join as producer of the new album. Steve Leavitt, producer of Time and Space, will also return to co-produce.
Our Limited Edition CD booklet will contain lyrics, credits, art, photos, and a bonus disc containing an entirely instrumental version of the album.
We've already released the first Single, "Beautiful Light" which was recorded entirely with Rich Mouser at The Mouse House in California, and is a taste things to come.
Here is the song and the Lyric Video done by Crystal Spotlight, UK. Give it a listen!
“The group Lobate Scarp presents prog rock that hits you right between the eyes. This band's rich melodies flow naturally like a stream, while the songs are broken down into movements much like a symphony.” - Music Connection Magazine

About Lobate Scarp
We are a progressive space-opera rock band based in Los Angeles. Our influences range from classic prog-rock of the 70's such as Genesis and Yes, to 80's pop such as Simple Minds and Tears for Fears, as well as strong ties to musical theater.
With the help of Kickstarter, our debut album, Time and Space, was successfully funded and received accolades from all over the world:
"One of the top 13 albums of 2013!" -TimeLord (USA)
"Great debut! highly recommended!" - Jürgen Meurer (Germany)
"[Time and Space] was clearly worth the wait. The time involved to bring this music to fruition is heard in every track; spotlessly produced and skillfully performed, the music is large and panoramic in scope. Highly recommended for fans of symphonic prog."- Jerry Lucky (Canada)
"Time and Space is a great debut album, one of the best debuts I have heard. It is all killer and a genuine delight to listen to from start to end." - AtomicCrimsonRush
"A great album! ✭✭✭✭"- (UK)
A couple of tracks from our 2012 release Time and Space:

REACHING OUR GOAL
Our first time around using Kickstarter, we successfully funded our goal to be able to mix, master, and manufacture our debut album, Time and Space.
But this time we’re going bigger with our most ambitious release yet. To give you an idea, we already spent over $7,000 just on recording, mixing and mastering our first single "Beautiful Light".
A lot goes into an album than most people realize, especially to create an amazing sounding progressive rock album. In order to a create the mind-blowing experience we intend to, we have carefully calculated the rest of the album's budget to $26,900.
This is how it's broken down:
• Album Production- Recording at The Mouse House/ Hiring special guest musicians- $17000
• Post Production- Mixing and Mastering- $5400
• Designing/ Album Art- $1500
• Manufacturing of CDs- $3000
Also, in order to fulfill our end of the bargain with all the fun Kickstarter stuff we're offering, we must set a goal beyond our album budget. The total Kickstarter goal is broken down like this:
• Album Budget 75%
• Fulfillment of Kickstarter rewards- Cost of T-shirts, Flashdrives, Scarfs, and Shipping)- 12%
• Kickstarter fees, processing fees, and campaign marketing- 13%
In case we exceed our goal (which we really hope to do!), we have some really cool things we want to do to make You Have It All even better.
$37,590- For an additional $1500 we'll be able to make a great music video for "Nothing Wrong", already a fan-favorite at our shows.
$45,090- With an additional $7500 we'll be able to do a short European Tour. This will basically buy us 5 round-trip plane tickets and we'll get to finally meet our amazing European fans!
Risks and challenges
In our previous Kickstarter campaign we successfully raised over $6000. This time we are raising six times that amount. As you know, Kickstarter is an all or nothing deal: We need to reach our total goal in pledges by the end of the campaign or else we don’t get a dime and you won’t be able to hear this incredible album we have planned.
HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP
• Back the campaign early! The earlier you pledge, the more people will jump on the bandwagon.
• Share our campaign link via email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other social media.
• Reach out to someone who you believe will back the project to double your effect.
We will be featured in various progressive rock blogs, radio shows, podcasts, and music publications to help promote our new single and our new album, so back us early and often so that new fans catch on too.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for sharing our campaign and/or for your pledge. We can’t wait to share 'You Have It All' with you!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
