If you’re a guitarist – starter, or touring pro – who wants the ultimate in protection for your guitars, then let the innovative Kydex shell, torqued hinges, and water-resistant seal of a Timbre Case be your choice.
- 3.1 mm aerospace-grade Kydex shells are super-tough
- Fully recessed design prevents shearing of latches and hinges
- Torqued hinges prevent unintended lid slam-down
- Easy-glide system with recessed handle for on the go travel
- Integrated humidity-control pockets
- Water-resistant seal is a life-saver when rain is a threat
- Two-tone interior cushions the guitar from shock vibrations
The Big Idea with Timbre Cases is to provide guitarists with the ultimate solution to eliminate all those challenges associated with moving, storing and getting to and from gigs with their much-loved guitars.
We’re guitarists, and we had the same challenges – the bashing, the banging, the dropping, the falling, the throwing into the back seat or getting stuffed into an airplane cargo hold. Guitars getting stepped on in dressing rooms and dark stages, or getting caught by the rain on the long walk home.
Those were the problems. But never again! After two years of research and development, prototyping, testing and prototyping again until we got it right, we at Timbre Cases created the next generation – an improved generation – of instrument protection.
First Prototypes Produced
Timbre Cases are made with a process called thermoforming, which is widely used in the aerospace and auto industries. Thermoforming allows to to produce our case shells at a high level of consistency and quality.
Made with Kydex
Timbre Cases are created using aerospace-grade Kydex, which is not only super-tough, but waterproof, lightweight and the ultimate option for creating guitar cases designed to deliver the ultimate protection.
- Ultra-light yet super-tough, with a rigid structure
- Uniquely innovative ribbed design increases strength
- Kydex is non-hydroscopic, so will not absorb, retain or release moisture
- Colourfast shells are impervious to scuffs and scratches
- Great selection of exterior colors
To more easily manage opening and closing, there are three latches strategically located for ease of opening but recessed flush with the surface of the case so they don’t get broken in transit. These are not at all like latches found on typical guitar cases. These are modern-designed, pro-quality steel latches designed to withstand a lifetime of use.
Torqued hinges provide constant resistance throughout their entire range of motion. This means the DNone or OMone can be opened fully, but also stay open anywhere in between. Never again will your hands or guitar feel the pain of a case slamming down.
The fully integrated Easy Glide system pairs a headstock handle grip with recessed wheels to let you roll your way through airport terminals or straight out the door when your gig is finished.
Fitted interiors secure your dreadnought guitar. The DNone and OMone interior is fitted for all standard dreadnought and OM shapes. Generous padding throughout suspends the instrument's body away from rough shocks and is also designed to securely support the instrument's neck and headstock. Two-tone interiors let you express your taste through three colour combinations.
DNone and OMone integrate a unique seal design directly into the upper shell. Keep the elements out and let it rain!
The DNone and OMone interior integrates pockets designed to accommodate D’Addario two-way humidification packs produced by Boveda. This highly efficient system can maintain a 45 – 50% relative humidity level within the case. Eliminate guesswork and the anxiety of maintaining your proper humidity level.

Some challenges may come during our first large scale production of the DN one.
As all our backers invest in Timbre Cases, we make it our priority to minimize the risks involved.
When making any hardware product there will be a number of challenges to getting it right. Small changes may be needed to both ensure we manufacture a consistent and reliable product to further improve the quality of product delivered.
We have spent time with each of our suppliers and manufacturing partners to assure quality control and reliability. Once all parts are manufactured they will be shipped to the Timbre Cases headquarters in Fredericton, New Brunswick where the case will be assembled. The Timbre Cases team has experienced advisers and consultants to assure timely assembly of the cases.
We have built in extra time to account for potential delays in order for us to meet our shipment date, however in all matters we will keep in constant communication with our backers and update you on development.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
