We are a group of 13 college students based out of the Camden County College Game Design program. We are a diverse group of promising talent, eager to show the world what we can do. We have members in every major department, from programming and art to marketing and design. What is "For the Hive" and "Penguins Will Cut You..."?
"For the Hive" was our first project together as a team. It featured 10 levels of action packed insect warfare! We completed it in 15 weeks, from concept to finished project. Those of you who like turn-based strategy games will not be disappointed! Take a look at our gameplay trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDqINddj06g
"Penguins Will Cut You" was produced in 48 hours as part of the 2013 Global Game Jam. It was a collaborative effort between many of the members of Tim3sup Interactive and various other game design groups at our college. It is the story of how the famous scientist Dr. Yolo must run for his life from the deadly North Antartic Shanking Penguins.
What are the "Pit of Ruffians" and "For the Hive" boardgames?
"Gentlemen Robots: Pit of Ruffians" is the fully modular board game component to the Gentlemen Robots video game. Players assemble the board (Arena) any way they choose, leading to a near infinite number of combinations. They also have full control over assembling their robot avatar (a total of 256 different options!). Add to it traps and bonuses placed in the Arena, as well as a 40 card deck that changes the game on a dime, and you've got one action-packed board game experience!
"For the Hive: The Boardgame" is the analog component to the For the Hive video game. Two opposing colonies of insects wage an all out war over the last sugar on earth. It's like chess...if you could assemble your pieces in any order you wanted and plan tactical strikes against your opponent. Plus, it has exploding pawns, and that's just awesome. Once you've played the For the Hive board game, you won't be able to go back to regular chess.
Why Kickstarter? (What the money is for)
It is our goal as a student group to make this game with the best resources we can. We have 4 months to complete this project, so we hope you'll help us in our endeavour to bring you the most engaging experience! Our previous accolades include making the largest profit of any Game Design class in the program's 10 year history, as well as being the first Game Design class to both create a board game and purchase a 3D printer. We now set our sights on being the first Game Design class to have a Kickstarter and a successful one. Despite these achievements, we run on a shoestring budget, and we really wanted to raise the funds to make our final project a smashing success! We also want to bring our game to a wider audience and let people know college game designers have the talent and passion to produce fun worth while games. The next step was to branch out and ask the Kickstarter community to believe in our dreams. So we're here to show the world what Tim3sup Interactive can do (with adequate funding)! This will help us get a higher quality version of our game out to our players instead of handmade quality versions that have been handed out in previous semesters.
Why pixel art?
We felt that pixel-based art captured the retro quality of many of the games the Kickstarter community likely grew up with. While many games today feature state-of-the-art graphics and cutting edge technology, we feel there's a certain nostalgia in pixel-based art that modern games just can't touch.

Risks and challenges
Risk: Kickstarter rewards are not shipped on time.
Mitigation Plan: Tim3sup Interactive will actively be talking and interacting with the community at large, ensuring everything will be delivered on time. If something outside of our control gets shipped at the wrong time, Tim3sup Interactive will let the community know and have updates stating when the product will be out and clearing up the inconvenience. Rest assured, the team is committed to this project and will work on it past the semester in order to fulfill all obligations.
Risk: Game does not get finished on time.
Mitigation Plan: While many unforeseen events can happen during the development of a game, Tim3sup Interactive has taken every precaution to ensure this does not happen. Each department has weekly meetings as well as impromptu teleconference meetings. We also use real time collaboration document tools to tackle any issue that may arise. Finally, we have multiple deadlines for each stage of development to ensure we are on schedule and progressing smoothly. Also, if we do not finish this game we fail our college course. So, you know, there's that.
Risk: Turmoil amongst team members
Mitigation Plan: Tim3sup Interactive encourages a friendly and supportive working environment. We are all ready and eager to help one another if someone's work load becomes too great. However, as human nature tends to breed conflict, we are using a democratic idea system to make sure that everyone has a say in what goes into our game, as well as what needs to stay out.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
