- You’ll have plenty of time before your rewards ship to update your address, so if you are going to be moving before your reward ships out, don’t fret.
Tilt Five is a whole new way to play games, in Augmented Reality (AR), with freaking holograms!
When you slip on the Tilt Five glasses and look at the game board, a vibrant 3D world opens up to you. Suddenly chasms seem to drop infinitely into your table, and game characters and monsters spring up from the game board. This is gaming unlike anything you've experienced before.
Out of the box you'll have access to free games as well as thousands of officially licensed RPG adventures, and a multitude of classic tabletop, action video, puzzle, and party games.
"When we started designing the Tilt Five system our focus wasn't on the technology for technology's sake. We wanted to provide an amazing gaming experience that blends the things you love about video games and board games. And we wanted it to be just as fun when playing solo, together with your friends, or even when you're apart." Jeri Ellsworth, Co-Founder & CEO
So some of you are saying "but you showed composited shots in your video." Yeah, we knew you'd say this. In order to show the group experience of playing games around the table together, we had to make a creative choice. Shooting through-the-lens footage is difficult, and when you add in actors and scenery it's next to impossible. Here are many of the same shots as you would see them through the lens of the glasses, minus the actors and scenery of course.
We decided to take a different approach at Tilt Five. We focused on building an AR system that creates amazing tabletop gaming experiences, with glasses so lightweight and comfortable you can play all day. Our lenses are large and wide open, so the glasses don't block your vision. You can see your friends, pizza, and drinks, while you play true head to head games around the table. The patented 110° field of view optical system fills the entire game board, and everything is in focus whether you're leaning back in your chair or pressing your chin to the board to get a better look at the details on that dragon. To top it all off, the system had to be affordable.
We've been out and about showing the Tilt Five pre-production system to thousands of people. The responses have been overwhelmingly positive, and they're a sure sign that we're onto something special here.

With the Tilt Five LE or XE System, you get everything you need to start playing amazing games, and set-up is a breeze. The system comes with the glasses, a wand controller, the game board, USB cable, a variety pack of nose pieces, and introductory games. If you wear prescription glasses, no problem, the Tilt Five glasses will work over most prescription glasses. Just pick the nose piece that works the best.
Flip open the board, plug into a phone, tablet, or PC, your choice, slip on the glasses, and start playing. It's really that easy.
With the XE Game Board you get even more space to play as well as multiple configurations. Prop one end up with the kickstand and you suddenly get infinite depth and additional height. Configure it as a square board, or add the additional section and convert it into a 42 inch long board, perfect for spreading out your campaign maps for those epic game nights. It will also come with a water and fingerprint resistant coating, so clean-up is a breeze.
We've designed the Tilt Five System to be equally fun whether you're playing solo or with all of your friends. We've also designed the system to be cross-play friendly, so if your friends don't have Tilt Five yet, they can play along with their phone, tablet, or PC.
Solo play. Sometimes you just feel like unwinding and immersing yourself in a fun single player game. Tilt Five is great for solo play, whether you're determined to clear a dungeon or you want to practice that last hairpin turn before you race against your friends.
Perfect for multiplayer games. Tilt Five shines when it comes to social game play. You can sit around the game board with all of your friends and enjoy the togetherness of traditional tabletop gaming, with the added dimension of playing games in this new holographic game space.
Link your boards over the internet and play even when you're apart. You can share the same virtual space with your friends, no matter where they are in the world. It will feel like you're in the same room playing together. You'll never have to miss a game night again.
Tilt Five was designed from the ground up to be equally fun for video games, board games, and everything in between. You get all the advantages of video games- saving your games when your quests run too long, digital training and rules assistance to help you learn games faster, network play, and the ability to stream your game to your adoring fans on Twitch, Mixer, and Youtube. You also get completely new capabilities- your own private perspective to plan your next move in secret, dynamic story telling tools to impress your adventurers in your next RPG campaign, and the melding of physical and virtual game objects.
You get your own private perspective. Now you no longer have to find creative ways to hide your strategies or next move from your friends. Everyone has their own private view into the holographic game space. As a DM this feature gives you an amazing tool to map out your campaign and heighten your story telling.
Bring your miniatures to life and enjoy new playing card interactions. Your miniature’s actions are no longer trapped in your mind, now they come to life with vivid special effects, sounds, and interactions. And you can use enhanced playing cards to cast spells, activate special abilities, and send your creatures into battle.
Use the wand to interact with the holographic game space. With the wand you can poke, shove, shoot, burn, drag, slide, twirl, and crush.
Tilt Five ships with a set of free introductory single and multiplayer games that you can start playing right away. The games include a variety of interactions that will make familiarizing yourself with the system super easy and fun. All of the included games will work on Windows and Android devices.
Any piece of gaming hardware is worthless without content, so we've designed the software interfaces to be easy to use and have been securing content partners across video games, board games, and RPG's, as well as non-gaming applications.
We've designed the Pledge Levels to be as straight forward and simple as possible. With the LE Kit you get everything you need to start playing holographic games, with one pair of glasses, a wand, and the basic square game board. At the XE level, you get a larger, more configurable game board, a deluxe box with carrying handle, and access to all the stretch goals. With the Beta / XE level you get all the perks of the XE level, plus you get to be one of the first to get glasses in your hands. You'll get a Beta version of the glasses and wand, and you get to be part of a limited group with access to the Beta Tester Forum. You'll help us squash bugs and ensure that the consumer versions of the LE and XE kits will be the absolute best that they can be. The final level is for our backers that really want to have everything, including many of the early glasses that are a part of our history. You get everything in the Beta / XE level and a whole lot more.
How to add on additional sets to your pledge. If you want to add on an additional set to your pledge this is actually quite easy. Just add the amount for the additional kit that you want to your existing pledge level.
For example: If you already pledged at the XE Kit level, and you want another set of glasses, just add the additional amount for another XE Kit to your current pledge. $359 XE Kit + $359 XE Kit = $718. When surveys are sent out by BackerKit at the end of the campaign, you'll be able to specify what you pledged for, 2 XE Kits.
If you want to add additional game boards you will be able to do this as an add-on when you receive the BackerKit survey at the end of the campaign. Details on prices will be announced soon.
By reaching these goals it helps us hit higher production volumes, and we'll be able to add more features and customization to your kits. Help spread the word, so we can unlock as many stretch goals as possible for you.
Help us out and share Tilt Five with your friends!
Do you have friends, family, frenemies, fellow adventurers, and fabulous game developers that would enjoy playing games in augmented reality? Let them know about Tilt Five by sharing our campaign with them.
With your help we'll have a wildly successful campaign, and then we'll all get to play games together with Tilt Five.
We've spent years designing and perfecting the Tilt Five glasses, with the primary goal of creating an incredibly fun and affordable augmented reality system that you'll love playing games with. For us, it's always been about sharing the joy of playing games in this whole new way. We've always believed that the technology behind Tilt Five should accentuate the gaming experience, and we've designed it to do just that.
The glasses are the heart of the Tilt Five system. They have everything you need for an amazing gaming experience. Two HD micro projectors, stereo speakers, microphone, tracking cameras, and a high speed, high accuracy Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) on board. And at a weight of 85 grams, you'll be able to wear them for even the longest of game nights.
Computer Vision Camera. To have a truly mixed reality experience, you need the ability to track hands, playing cards, tokens, miniatures, and other objects. The Tilt Five glasses have a high resolution computer vision camera with infrared illumination on board. This allows the camera to work in any lighting condition. If you're a developer, we give you access to this camera, along with some of our own examples, so you can do whatever you want with it. Do you want to get in there and use your own tracking algorithms, be our guest!
Here's a hand tracking example using the computer vision camera. All the footage was shot through the lens of the glasses.
The wand is the most direct way to interact with your games. With our 6 degrees of freedom tracking on the wand, utilizing both optical and high speed IMUs, you'll never miss that target or be late casting those game changing spells. All the buttons you need are on board and include analog joystick with button press, analog trigger, and seven additional buttons. And if traditional game pads are more your style, no worries, Tilt Five plays great with traditional game pads, joysticks, keyboards, mice, or your other favorite gaming peripherals.
It's not easy to make a comfortable, and lightweight pair of augmented reality glasses. It took us multiple iterations and a lot of prototyping to get to a final form factor that we're happy with and that you'll enjoy wearing during all those long RPG campaigns and epic game nights.
Not only did we do extensive prototyping, we also did multiple pilot runs to test various aspects of the evolving design, as well as reliability testing and pre-certification. Some of these early production run glasses are currently being used by developers who are working on content for the system.

We wouldn't be where we are today without the hard work of all the engineers and developers we've had the pleasure to call colleagues and friends. To all the crew that worked late nights with us, we can't thank you enough. You know who you are.
We'd also like to thank all of our mentors and advisers who spent countless hours helping us to navigate the roller-coaster ride that is being in a start-up.

Shipping will be charged after the Kickstarter finishes based on actual costs incurred to ship and is collected via our pledge manager BackerKit. This allows us to charge fairly for all backers and avoid a 'one size fits all' mentality to shipping.
We will be shipping your rewards at our cost to one of our fulfillment company’s international hubs. We'll cover the costs of custom duties to get the rewards into those countries. You'll still be responsible for local taxes or value added taxes that may apply.
Depending on where you are in the world, we will either ship to you from the fulfillment company’s hub in the EU, China, Canada, Australia (Australia and New Zealand backers) or the US (several hubs). Our manufacturing partner in Japan will handle shipments to our backers in Japan and Korea.
Following is a list of very rough estimates for shipping a standard LE or XE Kit (~ 5lbs estimated weight, or 2.27kg). Keep in mind these are just estimates, and the cost may increase depending on how many kits you pledge for, and any add-ons that you select during the pledge manager. Costs may also decrease depending on deals that our fulfillment house is able to work out with carriers. Once we have all of the pledges and number of units going to each region, we'll work with our shipping fulfillment partner to get you the best possible price on shipping.

Risks and challenges
Our team has decades of combined experience successfully launching hardware and software products, and we understand very well the risks and challenges that come with bringing a new product to market. Sometimes things don’t quite go according to plan. We promise to be fully transparent about any issues that come up, and we’ll do our best to address and solve them quickly. More than anything, we want you, our backers, to be happy and proud to support our company.
Supply Chain Risk: Manufacturing can be unpredictable. Parts may be delayed, factories may receive incorrect components (our CEO has first-hand experience dealing with this), new Tariffs may be implemented without warning, and factory equipment can break slowing down the manufacturing line. All of these things have the potential to delay the manufacturing process. Luckily we have trusted manufacturing and project management partners already in place, and we can address these issues quickly should they arise.
Shipping Risk: The logistics involved with global shipping and warehousing are incredibly complicated, that’s why we intend to outsource this to experts. Even then, delays can happen due to uncontrollable factors, such as weather and port congestion. We’ll do our best to communicate when these delays occur.
Certifications: We’ll be finalizing FCC and CE certifications soon, and we don’t anticipate any issues.
Through all of the risks and challenges we face, we promise we’ll be transparent with any issues that come up and keep everyone posted on how and when they will be resolved.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
