Frequently Asked Questions
Are you interested in adding an extra item to your reward? It's not all that difficult, and it will allow you to build up your perfect Siletz Carry System! Keep in mind, if you are most interested in only one item, or a very specific combination of Siletz accessories, choose the "Siletz Custom Build Menu Reward" and follow these steps to choose exactly what you'd like.
1. If you’ve already pledged to this project and would like to add items to your existing pledge, click the “Manage My Pledge” button at the top of the page. If not, click “Back this project” and pick one of the rewards. Each backer can pick one and only one reward level.
2. Look at the Custom Build Menu in the project description (it's down a ways). Find the item(s) you would like to add to your pledge. Based on the prices listed in the Custom Build Menu (discounted at 20-25% off!) increase your reward by the corresponding dollar amount.
3. Look at the Shipping Costs Table just below the Custom Build Menu to determine how much to add to your pledge for shipping. The costs are broken down based on how many items you are adding to your pledge, and whether you are ordering from the United States, or internationally.
4. That's a wrap! No need to do anything else until after the campaign ends on November 26th (unless you decide you would like to add something else to your reward...then follow these steps again!)
In the weeks following November 26th, we will send every backer a survey. In that survey you will tell us which specific items you had chosen to add on to your reward (you can also let us know at this time if you would like to add additional items). You will give us your shipping details at that time.Last updated:
The quick answer is no, but the long answer is, "yes?".
Per Kickstarter, you can only choose one reward when you back a Kickstarter project. To our dismay, this is currently a restriction of the Kickstarter platform that we have no way of getting around.
Fortunately, we have found a way for you to add additional items onto your reward, one by one, up to as many as you'd like. For this purpose, we created the Custom Build Menu which is referenced and explained in the above FAQ.
For example, if you would like two of our "Travel System" Rewards, you can choose the "Travel System" Reward and then use the Custom Build Menu to add the additional products necessary to make two of them. Please keep in mind that it is not the same as simply doubling your pledge amount - rather, you will need to refer to the Custom Build Menu to add the corresponding prices of the added items to your existing pledge, and also add the corresponding shipping cost using the Shipping Cost Table just below the Custom Build Menu (see above FAQ).
Our existing Reward levels contain extremely discounted pricing. Our Custom Build Menu also has prices discounted from MSRP (20-25%), but they are slightly less than the existing bundle reward levels. Hence the reason that you cannot simply double the price of your pledge.
Whewww, sorry that got so detailed there!Last updated:
We have limited our rewards as a means to maximize our confidence in estimating exactly when we can deliver our backers the final product (the dates listed in the reward descriptions). If we do end up hitting our reward quantity limits before the campaign is complete, we will create a new set of identical rewards (not Early Adopter level) that will deliver 30 - 60 days later than the original rewards. So, if you or a friend is considering backing a reward, backing sooner will increase your chances of receiving your Siletz System in May!
*Please keep in mind that these quantity limits are estimates rather than absolutes. We have created them so that we can accurately set your expectations and avoid making promises that we are unable to keep. If we do approach quantity limits, we will be sure to pull out all of the stops and work our butts off to boost production and meet demand. Our manufacturing partners have risen to the occasion for us many times before, we know that they can do it again!Last updated:
We have spent the last year and a half working out every detail of our product, our sourcing, and our manufacturing, so that when this campaign ends, our biggest goal will be to have your rewards shipping out in May 2019 (please note that different rewards have different estimated delivery times). This process will also rely on our backers promptly filling out the post-campaign surveys so that we can start optimizing our shipping logistics ASAP.
That being said, we've been doing this manufacturing and fulfillment thing for some time, and we are well aware that sometimes things beyond our control can happen that postpone or delay our timeline. So please understand that our listed delivery times are goals (very calculated and realistic goals, we might add), but they are by no means a complete guarantee. We are also aware that our manufacturing timeline will be spanning the holiday season here in the US, as well as holidays for our manufacturing partners, so we have allocated time for that based on our previous experiences - but we cannot predict what may happen due to unanticipated demand or unforeseen issues. For these reasons, we can also not guarantee that our manufacturing schedule will hold. If we encounter machinery issues or lose a shipment, our schedule can be impacted. If these things do happen, we will notify our backers immediately, and keep them updated as issues are resolved.Last updated:
Unfortunately, no. But rest assured, once this campaign ends, our focus and our priority will be 110% dedicated to getting you your shipment on time.
While our campaign is running, we will be optimizing our manufacturing, assembly and quality assurance processes. Once it is all dialed and the project is funded, we’ll begin the production process. When those new products are ready, they’ll be sent to our fulfillment centers here in the US, and then they will be sent out to you!Last updated:
For our Domestic backers:
If you are located in the US, we will ship your package from our California fulfillment center using a ground service (USPS priority, FedEx or UPS depending on destination and shipment size). These packages will have tracking information that will work within the US.
For our International backers:
Non-US orders will also ship from our California fulfillment center. These orders may or may not have tracking depending on which service is used, but there are too many to address here.
*Note that we cannot alter the value of your rewards on customs declarations - the value will be declared as the total value of the items contained in the shipment.
If our international order volume is high, we will investigate the option of fulfilling from international fulfillment centers. We cannot promise that we will end up going this route, but the more successful our campaign is, the more likely we will be able to do so!Last updated:
We are sorry but we cannot arrange for that. Our shipping system is well-oiled and highly efficient automated process that we need to let do its thing. The more that we interfere with the process, the more chance there is for human error, and we don't want that.Last updated:
As much as we wish they all were, and as much as we wish you could fit all of them in the Siletz at once, they unfortunately do not all work together or fit in the bag at once.
We designed the Work & Travel System and the Outdoor System to be two stand alone modular systems to take full advantage of the Siletz 35L backpack - each for their intended purpose. As a result, some accessories from different systems will not work together.
If you refer to the Custom Build Menu on the campaign page, you will see that each modular excessory is color coded for compatibility (with a legend at the top of the Menu). The Work & Travel System and Outdoor System are both color coded, and we have also provided an "Other" configuration for a separate assemblage of accessories that also works together.
So you don't have to go back a dig through the campaign, here is a list of compatible accessory configurations:
Work & Travel System (coded Red in the Custom Build Menu):
- Laptop Sleeve
- Travel/Photo Insert
- Night Bag
- ~10 Liters of volume left for travel accessories (or that can also be filled with up to two more Night Bags stacked horizontally, or our Wet/Dry Bag insert for dirty clothes)
Outdoor System (coded Brown in the Custom Build Menu):
- Cooler Insert
- Gear Pouch
- 25L Wet/Dry Bag Insert (occupies more or less volume depending on what is inside it - waders or wetsuits only occupy about 10L)
- Shoulder Pouch (compatible with every system)
- ~0 - 10 Liters of volume left for gear (or that can be filled with one or two more Gear Pouches)
Other Compatible Group (coded Blue in the Custom Build Menu):
- Laptop Sleeve
- Gear Pouch/Night Bag
- Shoulder Pouch
- 25L Wet/Dry Bag Insert
- ~5 - 10 Liters of volume left for whatever you'd like to put in there (or that can be filled with up to two more Gear Pouch/Night Bags.Last updated:

Certified B Corporations are for-profit companies certified by the nonprofit B Lab® to meet or exceed the stringent parameters B Lab® has set forth regarding social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Certified B Corporations must also integrate B Lab® commitments to stakeholders as well as into company governing and legal documents. Individually, Certified B Corporations meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental responsibility, public and operational transparency, and legal accountability, and aspire to use the power of markets to solve social and environmental problems.
We believe that the standards and commitments mandated by the B Corp™ certification process wholly reflect the levels of social accountability and environmental responsibility that are so heavily engrained in our purpose and in our mission statement. For these reasons and more, we chose to join a growing community of like-minded businesses and became a Certified B Corporation® in 2018, after only one year in business.
Our B Corp™ certification is a legally binding commitment to continuously work toward minimizing our impact on the environment, to address the welfare of our workers and the community, and to do so in a regimented and transparent manner. The end goal of the process is to allow you - our customer - to make a well informed decision when purchasing our products.
We want you to feel confident in knowing who we are, why we do what we do, and what we are all about!Last updated:
We spend a significant amount of time identifying the best materials and hardware for use in our products, as well as vetting our manufacturers for their attention to detail and their quality of craftsmanship. As a result, we stand entirely behind our product and provide a Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturer’s defects or damages incurred while shipping. So rest assured knowing that your Tillak gear will get to you safely and was designed and built for the long haul.Last updated:
While we do warranty our gear for lifetime, and offer returns and exchanges on purchases made from us, we do not offer refunds or returns on products received as Kickstarter Rewards. Your pledge is different than a purchase you would make from us - it is an investment, and in exchange, we have promised to give you a gift (your reward).
That being said, we really value the support you all are giving us here on Kickstarter tremendously (as a first-timer here, we really, really appreciate it!). Your pledges are instrumental in allowing us to bring our dream projects and products (like the Siletz) to life - and without all of you it would never happen. So, thank you, and we truly appreciate your understanding.Last updated:
