TiGr® Lock – Uncompromised Mobility
We love riding bikes: the speed, the sense of freedom, the pure simplicity of the bike itself.
What we don’t love is anything that compromises that enjoyment. For example, the unwieldy, cumbersome, heavy, clunky, clanky conventional bike locks we use - or don’t use. (We know, plenty of us don’t bother with a lock because bike locks can be just too much of a hassle to use and carry.) The choice is either a hefty, ungainly, belt-loop-yanking steel U-lock, or be chained to the bike because you can never leave it out of your site.
Instead of being robbed of your bike, you’re robbed of your bike enjoyment. We think it’s time for a change.
Unshackle Your Ride!
Fortunately, we’re not only bike aficionados, we’re creative mechanical engineers with decades of security expertise, and numerous patents for innovative security solutions.
So in 2011, we introduced the original TiGr® Lock; a strong, lightweight, titanium Bow-Lock™ designed to work in harmony with you and your bike. Elegant, versatile and simple, TiGr® Lock protects your bike while freeing you to enjoy the ride.
The first TiGr® campaign was super successful. We kept our backers in the loop throughout the process with a steady stream of updates and we fulfilled all of our backer commitments with in just a few months.
We've since shipped thousands of TiGr® Locks to thousands of riders. TiGr® Locks are in use everyday, all around the world.

The Next TiGr® Lock
Thanks to contributions of our backers, our first Kickstarter campaign raised over $100,000, enabling us to to design, produce, and deliver TiGr® Locks across the world. Now we’re taking the next step.
In seeking feedback, we heard a simple request from our customers: uncompromised mobility and versatility with the same elegance and strength. You asked for a smaller TiGr® Lock with the locking range of a traditional mini U-Lock and the simplicity of the original.

Where The Funds Will Go
The funding will be primarily used to cover fixed costs such as new tooling, Beyond that, funds go towards production materials, production labor and testing.
Risks and challenges
Every time a new product is created there are risks, including vendor issues, unforeseen production delays, material supply interruptions, acts of god to name a few. The good news is that we have established an excellent relationships with our key vendors and a stellar track record for delivering products on schedule.
To minimize the risks we have selected trusted vendors that are a short drive from our shop. The lock mechanism is supplied by a high quality industrial lock manufacturer in Taiwan, everything else will supplied by our vendors in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. No need to use Kickstarter funds will definitely not overseas travel.
A pilot production run of 50 pieces is complete, the short run was highly successful and we’re ready to scale up.
The plan is to hand-form the bows, assemble the TiGr® mini's and fulfill our Kickstarter orders from our New Jersey production facility. Once we have the tooling set up and the materials in place we expect to produce about 100-200 locks per week.
IF our Kickstarter Campaign is wildly successful we will scale up production capacity and/or outsource some operations which may cause the estimated delivery times to slip. As with our previous TiGr® campaign we will keep our backers updated on a regular basis.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
