Quester Party: A hybrid cooperative game of adventure
Meet the first game from Tiger Ghost. 108 different cards of Questers, Power cards, Foes, Locales and Bosses.
This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Mon, October 29 2018 4:57 AM UTC +00:00.
This is the first game from my game brewery Tiger Ghost. There are three other games in the works: Feed the Furps, Mother and Story Jam.
Quester Party is a all-in-one fantasy card game for 1 - 6 players and takes roughly 60 minutes to play. Play in Quester Party is centered around working together to survive but trying to also gather the most tokens (points) on your own.
Since I was a little kid I've been into playing and creating games. In 2002 after college I created a live-action game called PaddleQuest. In 2014 I had visions of a game that was based on the characters in that world. To sum up, Quester Party takes place on the other side of a portal within the PaddleQuest world. After multiple prototypes and much testing, the game took it's final form. I wanted to create a truly unique world with a story all it's own. And so, Mutra was born!
Each Quester serves one of the five codes. The codes were established to restore order to Mutra and fight the murderous Sesa. Now with nasty Bosses threatening the land, they must work together to vanquish the evil forces. Time to form a party.
You and the other players draw up a party and play with your character(s) face up. Players take turns acting as leader and reveal Quest cards. The Quest cards are marked with the code that may be favored so smart guidance is a mark of a good leader.
In the Quest cards you will find a Boss Lair where the Bosses are hiding. Once your party is ready, fight the Boss and defeat 3 to win. If you collect the most tokens (found on the Quest cards) you win-win! Thats the game in brief. There are twists and turns along the way...and POWER ORBS!! Power Orbs measure your strength. Your party pools all Power Orbs to match the strength of the Foes and Bosses that you face.
The game will be printed and distributed by The Game Crafter in Madison, WI. I'm excited to have a local manufacturer and their card printing is of a very high quality!
The game features 108 different cards. I really liked the idea that every card in the game is different, no repeats. It took more time to do all the different art but makes for a more exciting adventure. The monsters are mostly original although there are some classic baddies in the mix as well.
Thanks for taking a look, Party on!
Risks and challenges
Quester Party is much like it's inspiration PaddleQuest, as it is quite intricate and at times difficult to follow for the casual gamer. There are many themes, characters and other aspects of the game that will seem strange, uneccesary and confusing. This is all part of what Quester Party means. It is union of the party but also chaotic. I am hoping that videos for the game help new players learn to quest!
Delays may occur if I recieve many requests to be drawn into the game. If I reach the 20 maxium draw-ins, the game may be delayed from 1-2 weeks but my goal is to make the shipment prior to christmas n matter what!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
