Tiger + Man
The creation of Tiger + Man is a collaboration among artists, musicians, photographers, and cinematographers. Tiger + Man has had the honor of working with truly incredible people during the production of their debut EP. Now that the music is in post-production, it's time to put together the visual representation of Tiger + Man in photos and videos.
Tiger + Man has entered pre-production for a photo shoot and two video shoots with a dream0team visual artists. You can read about each of these below!
About the Photographer
Nir Arieli: Nir launched his career as a military photographer for the Israeli magazine Bamachane, before receiving a scholarship to pursue a BFA at New York’s School of Visual Arts; he graduated with honors. Nir's photographic passion is within the portraiture and dance fields. He is an admirer of gentleness, beauty that embodies a sense of conflict and physical intelligence.
About the Directors
Justin Scholar: Justin is a visual effects artist currently attending the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Justin was in charge of visual effects on Tiger Darrow's last video, Sunrise and we are excited to be working with him again!
Mike Donaghey: Mike is the Co-Founder and Executive Producer of Scratch Empire, a creative collective and digital design agency based in New York and Dublin, with credits including Santigold, Moon Casale and Alex Gibney.
Each of the five tracks on the EP will have a corresponding artwork, painted by one of five artists spanning the globe. We created five identical canvases embossed with the Tiger + Man logo, on which Jo Voysey, Jason Stallings, Liona Nyariri, Deanna Smith and Alexandra Karakashian are creating their incredible works. As a reward for your patronage we are offering prints of the respective artworks, which we will post as they reach completion.
Every so often, great art requires great patronage. In order to rent equipment, feed the talented crew members, reserve studio space and create the best quality product as possible, the generous help of a passionate patron of the arts is much needed and greatly appreciated. Tiger + Man want to create the best first impression possible producing content that is the perfect visual representation of the band's musical aesthetic. Naturally, donors will be appropriately credited, thanked, and rewarded for their generosity--none of this would be possible without you!
Risks and challenges
Every new endeavor has a chance for failure. The concepts for the music videos have tricky technical elements, the photo shoot is going to be full of visual experimentation and it is almost guaranteed that there will be a few hang-ups. However, with the talented team we've assembled there is no problem too big that would hinder the creation a beautiful, collaborative work of art.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
