Time is your most precious resource. Yet you irreversibly waste it away. It always feels like you're running behind on something.
emit uses the psychology of time scarcity and auto-suggestion to help you become more productive and take control of your time.
A simple and intuitive smartwatch that influences you to take action towards achieving your goals.
Timekeeping on phones and traditional smartwatches have to be done amidst all the noise and clutter of other apps which insidiously eat into your time. The best way to prioritize your goals over all other distractions is simple! Write down your targets, set a time frame to it and wear it on you to keep focused.
Don't let time fly away before its too late. Own time. Own emit.
Viewing time as a countdown makes you perceive it as scarce, which influences your mind to be more proactive and value time more. You will become more realistic with your timelines, and stick to your schedule.
See countdown to wake-up time rather than absolute time to feel energised for the day. Just seeing normal time doesn't have any context to you personally.
Stay disciplined with your sleep with a constant reminder of time remaining before starting your day.
LEAVE ON TIME
Know how far away your next event is so you’re always on schedule. Keep track of your day itinerary with a simple tap.
ARRIVE ON TIME
Always on time. Everywhere. Having a countdown on your wrist helps to condition your mind so you become more punctual.
Seeing your most important tasks, events and goals on your wrist encourages you to be more conscientious in choosing the things that matter most to you. It reminds you of your priorities and compels you into action.
Note your goals physically to give you a vision. Set your mind on a target so that you can direct all your mind space towards it.
Implement your plans with hard work by staying focused. Having your goal on your body keeps you on the right track whilst others procrastinate away on their phones and other distractions.
Achieve your targets within the set time-frame. Small moments of procrastination avoided quickly compound to greater results.
You often start a project with a lot of passion, only to lose motivation along the way because the momentum fades or other aspects of life knock us down. emit has a progress face dedicated to intuitively show the time progress made within a long term mission so you stay dedicated.
Schedule times for tasks so you adhere to them. Setting aside time to perform a task ensures that you are prepared for it and committed to it.
Remind yourself of the bigger picture and your progress. The key to success is a lot of consistency and discipline which you can attain by reminding yourself of your end goal and your journey so far.
Effortlessly convert your plans to reality. Observing progress has shown to encourage us to be more adherent to our long-term goals.
Keep yourself inspired by realistically planning look-forwards in life. emit can also remind you of the things in your life that make the struggle worthwhile.
Dare to dream big. Dare to write down your dreams. Physically noting your goals makes it more realistic to you, pushing you to work harder towards them.
Use your look-forwards to change your mind-set and recharge your mood. If you're having a bad day or week, remind yourself of the great things the future holds for you.
Make your dreams come true by wearing them on you. Aspire, achieve and go beyond.

emit's core ethos is to de-clutter your life and enable you to focus on the things that really matter to you. Keeping that in mind, we have designed emit to be minimal, yet, distinct.
We have designed emit's user-interface and the hardware. We have tested different prototypes and are excited to get emits in the hands of people around the world.
We now need the help of our Kickstarter community to raise funds to place a minimum order quantity with our suppliers in Shenzhen, China. Having collaborated with manufacturers and suppliers, we expect to begin production of emits as soon as December 2018 (approximately 10 days after finishing the Kickstarter campaign). After manufacturing our cases and assembling the electronics, we will test our sample units for quality control.
After completing our testing process, we will oversee the packaging so our backers have a special experience of unboxing their emits. We will then start delivering emits to our backers by May 2019!
We are engineering students from Imperial College London who were looking for a tool to better manage our time. We realized people could better perceive the value of time if shown as the remaining amount they had to their next event, or end of their day, instead of as an absolute value. Our mission is to help people accomplish their most important goals and dreams by proactively allocating appropriate amounts of time to each of them.
Having designed and manufactured a range of products from Bosch hand-tools to electric scooters and a robotic arm as part of our Mechanical Engineering degree, we have developed a passion for building cool new products. We have expertise on custom building and retailing PCs and developing consumer-end apps (in foodtech and edutech) as previous ventures.
We work on emit full-time and envision emit evolving into a smartwatch with analytics that tracks users' adherence to their goals and helps suggest how to improve on this. Our Kickstarter campaign is the first step to proving that there is a community of realistic optimists who are willing to look at time in a new way to achieve their dreams.
Join us on the time revolution!
We have done a lot of research on how one’s behaviour with time can drastically improve their quality of life. If we hit our stretch goal of $30,000, we will create a book of ways in which you can hack time management. The book will detail our findings how topics such as mindfulness, the psychology of scarcity and others have been incorporated into the everyday lives of successful people. We are excited to put together a simple list of practical steps you too can take to ensure you use your time wisely.

Risks and challenges
The overall project involves hardware development, firmware development, manufacturing, packaging and shipping. Although we have a very hardworking team, there are still unforeseeable factors that we cannot control. Our chips and internal components that come from a range of different suppliers can have different lead times, which may cause delays in the manufacturing timelines. We have accounted for contingency periods if this were to happen.
We will continue to improve our software (both watch firmware, and phone app) throughout the launch to improve functionality. We have also incorporated multiple redundancies to insure against shipment delays such that our overall timeline of beginning delivery of emits by May 2019 is adhered to.
We will always keep our backers informed about any delays to the project and how we’re working to solve them. We really appreciate all the support for emit and can’t wait to get it out to all of our backers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
