Thug Life is a game for 2 to 5 players. Players take on the role of Bosses using their Thugs to fight for money, power and respect in the Streets. The first Boss to earn 13 Respect points wins the game and the title, “King of the Streets”.
Game creators Jason Serrato and Roberto Anguiano grew up in the less glamorous parts of Los Angeles. Thug Life is a love letter to street culture and an homage to inner city life across America, a life that most never see and others cannot escape.
Thug Life is a mash up of all the urban characters and themes you love from your favorite video games, movies, music and down the street.

Jason Serrato. Game Designer. Thug Life is Jason's follow up to the hit dice game Army vs Aliens. Jason is a Los Angeles based storyteller with over 25 years of entertainment industry experience who has lived and worked all over the world. As a child, his hometown of Pico Rivera was fraught with gangs, drugs, crime and violence. Understanding that dungeons and dragons were markedly less scary than cholos and lowriders, he sought refuge in role playing, gaming and works of fiction. Since then he has Produced several well received films including Cake, Baby and Bubba Ho-Tep, dozens of international commercials and most recently, internet, giant live activations for PAX and Comic Con along with hit shows Geekenders and Table Flip.
Roberto Anguiano. Art Design. Roberto is a Los Angeles based artist, game developer and nerd provocateur. A latino born in East L.A., his youth was filled with it's rich, colorful culture set against a backdrop of the street life and gangs that claim the area. Out of this grew an appreciation for street life, street art and an understanding of the struggle. His career led to 3D video game art. He worked on projects with Interplay, Sega, Midway and Activision among others. He currently designs toys for a local educational company who, to protect the innocent, can not be discussed here. When Roberto isn’t drawing, sculpting or crawling through dark alleys looking for “reference material”, he can be found with his partner in crime playing board games & playing music too loud.
Marcin J. Sobczak. Associate Producer. Marcin is an art industry veteran and the founder of This Way Publicity, a creative communication agency and film production company. Through the use of dynamic sales, merchandising and communication techniques, This Way Publicity has raised over $1,400,000 million in crowdfunding campaign funds in only two years.
We will be charging shipping after the Kickstarter concludes. Pricing will be based on the actual costs to ship. We will collect this via our pledge manager after the campaign ends. This is the fairest solution as each backer's shipping needs will vary and this method allows us to ship more stretch goals and possibly a offer more carrier options.
We will ship your rewards at our cost to our international hubs. Rough estimate for the US will be about $13, $15 to Australia, about $15-$20 to the EU and Canada but this may increase or decrease based on the quantity of stretch goals we might unlock and your carrier choices.
We can refund you within 60 days of the campaign’s end, fees included. After that your refund will still be possible, no questions asked but it will be minus Kickstarter and payment processing fees (which we can’t get back from Kickstarter after 60 days). If packaging your pledge for shipment (usually 4 to 6 weeks before the actual shipping date) has begun, no refunds are possible. If a component cannot be delivered AT ALL, we refund that completely, including fees of course.
Risks and challenges
Horseshoe Games is dedicated to quality and keeping our promises.
Due to the ambitious nature of this project and the varying levels of funding, it would be impossible to predict or plan for all the challenges that will surely face us.
Fortunately, our small staff of designers, producers and artists have dozens of projects under their belts and are no strangers to hectic production schedules, wild curveballs, unreasonable deadlines and moving projects to a successful finish. With enough funding our entire team will be able to work full time on getting Thug Life into your hands.
With your support we are more than confident we can bring this game to market, and more importantly, to you, our loyal fans. We will continue to take feedback from our backers, interact with our community, update our socials and keep you informed every step of the way!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
