Who are we and why are we doing this?
We are friends, occasional jerks and passionate foodies. Above all else, we love beef jerky. Yearning for the highest quality, purest and most delicious jerky, we realized it did not yet exist and set out to craft the finest meat snack ever created. We’ve spent a full year experimenting with various cuts of meat and different flavors in pursuit of this holy grail of a snack. The result is an aristocrat amongst plebeians- choice meat and dazzling flavors that create incomparable beef jerky. To insist that our beef jerky is delectable would be putting it modestly. We apologize in advance for shocking your senses and rendering all other jerky unpalatable. Our elegant and convenient snack will leave you wanting more…and more…and even a little bit more. Why Filet Mignon?
Lean yet succulent, filet mignon is the finest steak from the most precious part of the cow. Tender and buttery, the filet puts other beef to shame. Simply put, Three Jerks refuses to compromise and strives for the absolute best. Enough said.
Our traditional old school flavor brings you back to your granddaddy’s jerky -- salty, sweet and tangy with just the right amount of black pepper -- reminding you of the first time you tried beef jerky. But that memory turns on its head when you realize you have just met the new standard for deliciousness. Our tender filets are marinated to perfection, bringing you soft and iconic jerky.
Superlative BBQ made unique for jerky. Using a quintessentially Memphis blend of natural spices, we created a dry rub that starts off sweet. But beware, just when the seasoning happily layers your taste buds, the cayenne kicks you in the back of the mouth! With sweet heat, the meat is rubbed by hand with an array of spices, transporting you to the south.
A fusion of east and west, our Chipotle Adobo flavor unites a traditional Filipino marinade with our Mexican Chipotle glaze. Sweet, pungent adobo seasoning blends with smoky, peppery chipotle spices, creating a piquant balance. Our tender filets are marinated to magnificence and glazed to glory, offering a truly one of a kind jerky.
Out of an endless strive to exceed excellence, we determined the only possible thing better than filet mignon beef jerky is Gold Filet Mignon Beef Jerky! So we did it. Yep, we made the most opulent meat snack on the planet. Our Original Flavor is copiously coated in 23 Karat gold creating a snack fit only for a king (maybe queens too!).

What are we asking for? Where will the money go?
While we may be jerks, we do know when we need to ask for a little help. After a year of perfecting our Jerky, we are eager to share this delicious product with discerning fans and flavor enthusiasts. The Kickstarter community will help fund the development of our E-commerce website and execute our marketing plan which includes a viral video, search engine optimization (SEO) and advertising. Additionally the funds will be used to create packaging and produce enough inventory to fill the bellies of jerks everywhere.

Three Jerks Jerky has received USDA approval for packaging, processes and procedures as this is a requirement for retail sales of our product.
Retail distribution for food products like ours is a difficult channel to develop. Food brokers and distributors control a majority of the market and often retailers require slotting fees to get product on shelves. Consequently, we are developing alternative distribution strategies to creatively circumvent these barriers. E-commerce will be a large component and we also have a few secrets hidden up our sleeves. Keep your eyes open for jerky in places you wouldn't expect.
As much as we have enjoyed making beef jerky in our home kitchens into the wee hours of the morning, we cannot produce our product ourselves. The USDA requires beef jerky to be made in an approved commercial facility under supervision of a USDA inspector. After careful consideration we have partnered with a production facility with a 30+ year track record.
Moving from an in house operation to a full-scale business servicing retailers and end users requires careful planning and controlled growth. On time delivery, customer service and accurate fulfillment will be some of the most significant activities to maintain.
