Eisen Path is a Tabletop Roleplaying Game, or Tabletop RPG. It employs an updated and expanded version of our original D12 Only System, designed for streamlined storytelling and gameplay that reduces the tedium and keeps a session flowing. In contrast to our first Tabletop RPG Cyneric’s Call, Eisen Path is a more mature, advanced product targeted at core roleplayers rather than beginners while keeping true to our motto: Less Rolling, More Playing.
At a higher level, the Eisen Path Roleplaying Game is the birth of a new Intellectual Property we hope to expand to other mediums. Our mission is to Reclaim Space Opera from the politically charged direction the genre has taken in the last decade and bring it back to its roots of breathtaking stories and unforgettable moments. If you value powerful characters over political correctness, this is the roleplaying game for you.
As the name would imply, the D12 Only System means any and all rolls require no more than a single D12 dice. The purpose of this to reduce “grinding” and keep both the action and storytelling moving in a fast and cinematic manner.
Eisen Path features five core attributes (Strength, Agility, Endurance, Intelligence, and Charisma); all nineteen skills correspond to one of these. A skill and its attribute are combined to form a proficiency score that is used for checks in and out of combat. Endurance is also used to calculate Hit Points while Intelligence is used to calculate Psi Points, Eisen Path’s version of mana. Skills have four levels apiece while psionic powers have three.
Combat in Eisen Path features relative distance rather than a grid. Attacks are rolled against static difficulties dependent on range; if successful, the “excess” of the roll is added with a weapon’s damage, then subtracted by the target’s armor rating for total damage dealt. Aside from damage dealt, characters can also become afflicted with several status effects both positive and negative. The Eisen Path RPG Core Rulebook also features a ‘Mass Combat’ mechanic to simulate large-scale conflicts.
The known galaxy of Eisen Path is comprised of over sixty recognized states of all sizes and capabilities across eleven clusters, a wide variety of species and an even wider variety of cultures. Some states, like the Preddon Kingdom, comprise multiple star systems and dozens of planets while others struggle to attain a sizeable foothold on a single world to become legitimized. The formation of an intergalactic society has been eased thanks to the discovery of the Evvedon Beacons, a series of ancient relays linking many systems of the galaxy together. Ships in proximity are able to receive accurate coordinates to nearby systems with beacons in almost no time, both eliminating the high risk of hyperspace travel and the tedium of waiting days for localized drives to calculate a safe passage through the parallel dimension across space.
The galaxy is between two great eras as an age of voyages and explorations closes and the galactic community solidifies. While lasers are often applied to industrial needs, usage in ground weaponry (and to an extent naval weaponry) is still a frontier. The prototypes for plasma rifles cannot be finalized quickly enough, however, as armor is making strides against aging weaponry and necessitating melee combatants to advance a line. Communicators can transmit across a system quickly enough, but extra-system communications can take hours to reach their destination. Artificial Intelligence is capable of basic autonomous functions such as everyday maintenance and guard patrolling, but not yet efficient enough for mass military deployment.
These evolutionary times have created a turbulent political environment. The Preddon nobles make bold diplomatic maneuvers to maintain peace in the southwest region of the galaxy. Conversely, the northeast region sees powers creating social upheaval in earnest as the communists and corporatists assault the pious and patriotic. The displaced and exiled move to build new homes in the Terrnou, while the adventurous rush to grab treasures in the Bion. The scholarly travel to learn philosophy from the Chi-gai, and the strong venture to test their mettle against the warriors of the Besegar cluster. Opportunity and peril are everywhere.

Those familiar with our Kickstarted project Cyneric’s Call know that things didn’t go according to plan; the books were promised out in a ridiculously short amount of time and the delays that followed were deflating. We also promised a material prize – play tokens – that we were unable to deliver on.
That was our first rodeo and we learned our lessons. With Eisen Path our offering is content, and if the funding goal is reached, the stretch goals will be more content. We’re shooting for the best but planning for the worst with a release of Q4 2019. ThreeGold Games is committed to an engaging and fulfilling experience for our consumers.
Risks and challenges
If the Kickstarter fails Eisen Path will likely never come close to reaching its full potential. The Core Rulebook will still be completed but only released in digital format, and all supplemental material will be indefinitely postponed. It is vital that the Kickstarter is a success to get Eisen Path off the ground and well on its way to Reclaiming Space Opera.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
