Please note that our actual goal is $7,000; we set our initial goal low because if you don't reach your goal Kickstarter does not give you any of the funds, and we figured it would be better to at least partially fund the record than to not fund it at all!
The above video is a rendering of the album's title track The Way Day Collapses, done by video artist Jennifer Stock. The song was originally inspired by the poem you see throughout the video, Ice Lady, written by Jennifer's mother Vicki Kennelly Stock.
Collapses, Threefifty's third studio album (yes we are now officially dropping the "Duo" portion of our name) will further explore our original sound world of two acoustic guitars, and give shape to our more recent preoccupation with electric guitar and effects pedals. We're also enjoying experimenting with a slew of other instruments and sounds in the studio that give further life to the music that has been in our heads. The album is being produced by John Castlewood, who is as passionate about our music as we are, and just simply "gets" the sound we are going for. The CD design is being done by John Verdery, and given what we've seen of his work we are incredibly excited to see what he comes up with. We are also thrilled to have as guests on the record: Andie Springer on violin, Joanie Leon-Guerrero and David Parnell on vocals, and Jennifer Stock on electronics.
We need your help in order to turn all of this into a finished product! We are looking at a total of about $7,000 to make this record after all is said and done, which includes production, mastering, hiring of outside musicians, CD design, and CD duplication.
To add further incentive, we'll be posting a new video each week of the fundraiser to the "updates" section of this site of us playing a different piece off the album. So follow us on Facebook www.facebook.com/350duo or Twitter https://twitter.com/threefiftyduo to stay in the loop. Also you can join our mailing list if you haven't already.
Thank you so much for your support!!!
