UPDATE! LAST DAY TODAY!
Due to the absolute incredible generosity and madness of 48 backers THMasscare is a stones throw away from hitting the campaign target. If we are lucky enough to hit 100% and dare I say it go over..... here are the cool things that will happen with any extra money donated!
LET'S UNLEASH HELL ON SCREEN.
This is a horror web series with a big difference, our lead character 'BETH' is just as psychotic as the killers, this web series will be 100% X-rated and definitely NSFW!
The Highridge Massacre a.k.a #THMassacre will be an online bloodbath for Horror/Slasher fans, we are shooting 10 violent episodes that contain tons of practical FX, a shed load (pun intended!) of blood & gore.
SO WHAT'S THE STORY?
BETH and her so called friends head to Highridge Woods for a debauched weekend but after an altercation upon the group’s arrival, things spiral out of control when they cross the path of the Venner's. A savage family of tattooed gypsies who cut, burn, and dismember their victims leaving a trail of blood and carnage wherever they go.
As the Venners maim and kill, Beth's medication wears off and she starts to join in the killing spree. Suddenly the Venners have a problem on their hands, the hunters become the hunted and Beth begins to wreak havoc amongst friend and foe.
The Highridge Massacre (#THM) is a blood thirsty film that needs your help to create as much mayhem on screen as possible.
Beth is the ultimate final girl, I like to write strong female characters who kick ass when pushed to the limit! In The Highridge Massacre Beth gets pushed in her eye socket with a screwdriver, which is bound to piss her off!
OKAY THIS SOUNDS INTERESTING BUT WHY CROWDFUND?
It's important to have undiluted control of this film so I can deliver you #THMassacre in all it's uncensored brutality. #THMassacre steers away from the safety net of normality and edges in the direction most people daren't tread. Ultimately I want to create something fun, original and equally X-rated and f*cked up for you.
I have created several unique 'Rewards' so feel free to go and check them out. All the rewards are exclusive to this kickstarter campaign and cannot be purchased elsewhere. Some rewards are limited in numbers so make sure you join the campaign as early as possible to avoid missing out.
Much more than your typical slasher film and with your help I promise to deliver you something you have never seen before!
WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?
I have been busy number crunching and figured out how to keep the budget as low as humanly possible without compromising the story or quality of the series. This project has been stripped down to the absolute bare essentials this means we can shoot quickly and guarantee a high quality product, finished on time and on budget.
The total budget is £3000 however I am investing £500 to cover pre production costs, so that means the kickstarter campaign target is £2,500.
Below is a detailed breakdown so you can see exactly how the money will be spent. I will be making every penny count and ensuring that all the money raised gives a maximum return in blood and gore!
HOW WILL YOU DO ALL THIS FOR £3000?
I am a master of low/no budget. I shot my first feature film (78 minutes long) for £5,500 in 10 days.
FILMS cost MONEY and so does TIME. If you can decrease your time making films it always reduces the budget, it's that simple. I am a conservative filmmaker and hate wasting money, so I designed #THM to be shot in one day across two different locations (one inside, one outside). A single page of script equates to exactly 1 minute of screen time, each episode averages about 45 seconds so the entire series will be under ten minutes, imagine 10 really violent TV commercials!
So shooting less than ten pages of script/ten minutes in one day is easily achievable.
This is not a case of grab a camera and hope for the best, every single detail has been planned carefully over the past 6 months and I am pulling in lot's of favours from my contacts.
THE WORK SO FAR...
The script has been re-drafted for over six months and is finally complete, several storyboards are in place too and I have some amazing concept art to show you as well. I have started making several film props and will share a detailed account about the unique approach I will be taking towards this project.
I also have lot's of exciting news ready to release during the campaign via updates, so make sure you follow me on twitter or hit the 'remind me' button at the top of the campaign page.
Below is an example of a storyboard panel to help you get an idea of how The Highridge Massacre will look.
I also have some exclusive rewards
Including a brand new unreleased 30 x 40 inch 'one sheet' poster for Luke's debut film'Young, High and Dead'.
Okay I'm thinking of helping, what happens next?
This is the really exciting part! If the campaign is successful the series will be aired weekly on an amazing horror web channel that supports and promotes independent filmmakers called www.crypttv.com
It's impossible to express how fun this project will be and I appreciate the trust and commitment it takes to donate to a crowdfunded project, especially one as brutal as this!
All I would say is if you LOVE slasher films, blood, gore, guns, more blood, SFX, killer final girls, screwdrivers in eyes, a two headed feral beast, psychotic one eyed twins, splatter films, axes, forests, kids killing adults, tattoos, buckets of blood, heads getting sawn off, gypsies, barb wire, wooden cabins, pliers and even more blood! Then you will not regret backing this project.
Thank you for checking out #THMassacre, please do not hesitate to contact me and feel free to AMA.

Risks and challenges
The biggest risk is that this is an all or nothing campaign. It would be unfair to take a portion of the money and attempt to make the film partially funded, the film and the audience lose out. So I need to raise the entire campaign amount, which is going to be very tough. I have prepped this campaign for several months and am prepared to work as hard as possible to spread the word.
Filmmaking is never a straight forward process and no matter how much you plan and prep there is always something that crops up you didn't expect, but I love problem solving and make the best of a bad situation.
In the past I have always swiftly dealt with tons of issues including losing a location the night before we were due to start filming (no problem, found a better), car punctures between locations (slight delay and extra expense), losing a whole days shoot due to torrential downpour (relax the scenes were recovered following day), loss of props (I always have spares!), cast dropping out 1 week before shoot (slight panic but I know Casting Directors - phew), actors catching flu (we just 'shemp' it), explosions (not happened yet thank goodness but I am sure we would turn it to our advantage!)
Filmmaking is a minefield of problems but these often make you MORE creative!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
