Now that we've reached our first target of £3,500 to fund the festival in Zurich, we are setting a new target of £4,500.
If we reach this target, we will make the festival a joint event between two cinemas in Zurich and London. The selected short films will be shown simultaneously in both cities, with the ceremony from Zurich linked live - as well as the whole thing being broadcast via the internet around the world.
Lets see if we can make this an even bigger event, a global celebration of innovative filmmaking!
Who We Are
We are Andrea Holle, Swiss (event manager, film lover, taekwondo black belt), Simon Horrocks, British (writer, director, frisbee ninja) and Mike Myshko, British (film maker, designer, origami virtuoso). Although we have different backgrounds, we all have the same passion: Film.
New Talent for a New Wave
When it comes to cinema, we believe a great storyteller will tell a great story, regardless of what she uses to tell it.
Our aim is to promote talent, regardless of resources. To level the playing field, our festival will show films ONLY made by the most readily available equipment - smartphone, tablets, GoPro etc.
We also make this pledge to you - our festival will be free to enter. That means no submission fees for filmmakers who have already given so much to bring a great story to life; to bring the magic of cinema to us, the audience.
There are thousands of brilliant, aspiring filmmakers in the world. As digital filmmaking technology gets cheaper every year, opportunities open for budding auteurs backed by passion, fresh ideas and little else.
We have such an enthusiasm for this new wave of filmmaking, we have decided to help bridge the gap between filmmaker and audience. So, this year, we aim to launch the Mobile Motion Film Festival, dedicated to bringing the best short films shot on a mobile device to the cinema.
BUT - this will only be possible if we raise enough funds on kickstarter. If we do not reach our goal by October 29, we will not be able to run the festival.
If we reach the funding target, the festival will take place on one day in ZURICH, Switzerland, spring 2015. We are currently negotiating with different locations in Zurich. Plus, we plan to provide a live-stream of the entire festival for backers around the world.
Your support will bring this festival to life. Who knows where this journey is going to lead us? We have a lot of passion and the will to make this festival more than a one-off event.
You are forever going to be the reason why this journey started at all. With your help, we are going to be able to cover the cinema hire fee, marketing costs as well as the awards for those precious emerging talents.
As soon as the campaign is over and we are successfully funded, we’ll start taking short film submissions!
Besides personal handwritten postcards, inside news, a seat at the first MoMo Film Festival, a live shoutout, the possibility to place your logo or name on the big screen or even join the VIPs at an exclusive aperitiv party, we created these awesome MoMo T-Shirts just for you >>
Everybody who pledges over £ 12 will be listed here on the MoMo website as an Official Patron.
If you are interested in becoming a partner or sponsor of our festival, please don't hesitate to contact us.
In the past, we've organized similar events, like the global premiere of Third Contact at the BFI IMAX in London or the screening of Third Contact at RiffRaff in Zurich. Both of them very successful and unforgettable events.
Spread the word
You can also help by sharing the campaign. If you think this is something others might be interested to hear about, please share the link on facebook, twitter or any other social media platform you use.
You already did that? That's because you are totally awesome! :)
Risks and challenges
After the project is successfully funded, we'll start to take submissions and begin with the organization of the event. Organizing an event has many obstacles but as mentioned above, we have a broad experience in creating similar events and are able to draw on a huge network of supporters and friends.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
