About this project
Roller Coaster Challenge is our follow up to Gravity Maze, a hugely popular combination of a marble run and a logic game. Players set up the board based on the instructions on the challenge card, and determine where to place the remaining pieces - if you build a functioning roller coaster that connects the start to the finish, you win!
The game gets more difficult as you progress through the challenges moving from Easy, to Medium, to Hard, and finally to Super Hard. You also have the option for free form coaster building, with awesome pieces like the loop-de-loop adding to the fun!
Roller Coaster Challenge helps stimulate and develop logical reasoning and critical thinking skills. We're big believers in the value of learning through play, and in the ability of logic games and puzzles to develop these skills in children through a fun play experience.
So what's ThinkFun doing on Kickstarter? If you're a fan, you know that we don't usually sell our products directly to consumers. One consequence of that is we rarely get creative with extra offerings on products, for example limited runs of extra challenges. That's what we wanted to do with this project - help produce and make available to customers a limited run of some exclusive offerings, in this case extra challenges and a one-time only run of different color cars.
Given the huge anticipation around Roller Coaster Challenge, we thought this product was the perfect choice for a project like this. If you agree, and love logic puzzles, building sets, roller coasters, or all the above, please help us make this experiment a success. Trust me, your kid (or grandkid, or any awesome adult) is going to love it.

*A previous version of this image gave a price of $15 for this add-on - after realizing a mistake in calculating the price of the additional pieces, we've reduced the price to $8. Please check our updates for more information.
Risks and challenges
Everything for this product is basically squared away, with one exception - the exact format of the 20 bonus challenges. The plan is for them all to be in the 'Super Hard' difficulty category, but we just won't know until we've gotten through the process. If we can't manage to make all 20 as super hard as they should be, we'll move down the difficulty levels in order, so the bonus pack won't include any challenges that are easier than they absolutely have to be.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
