Helping Pour The Wright Sauce All Over The Internet!
"Tired of working for someone else, he sought out a business he could eat, sleep and breathe. Frustrated with the lack of diversity in the BBQ sauce industry, he decided to turn a family recipe into a sauce that was featured on Lifetime TV's Supermarket Superstar."
"The inside of the bottle is a a very simple, sweet, ketchup-like BBQ sauce with a subtle habanero flavor (but no heat) and a good amount of bacon chunks... As it cooked, the sauce thinned out a bit but retained a very simple but pleasurable flavor. It’s a nice mild sauce for nearly anyone to enjoy and the fact that there’s bacon in it, would be reason to get people talking about it... The outside of the bottle is good – it’s like a bacon guy and a hot habanero going to a movie premiere. Nice concept. It looks like it’s a famous sauce – and after the 15 minutes on Lifetime, it could certainly be ever more famous with married housewives."
As seen on Lifetime TV's Supermarket Superstar
In September of this year, I was lucky enough to beat out thousands of other contestants to have The Wright Sauce featured on Supermarket Superstar. While I didn't win, I did learn a ton from some of the best in the food industry. When I returned home, I knew what I needed to do to go to the next level and turn a great sauce into a truly awesome sauce. Your pledge will help turn this dream into a reality.
You may have noticed in the video above that we mention people's reactions to The Wright Sauce at tasting events. Without further ado, here they are:
Hopefully now you can start to see why I am so passionate about The Wright Sauce. The bbq sauce market is already over saturated and has very little diversity. I want The Wright Sauce to be the change the industry so desperately needs. I have no doubt that once you try The Wright Sauce, you'll too become a believer.
The Wright Sauce was actually born years ago when I began learning the recipe from my mom and grandma. My friends and coworkers' enthusiasm about the sauce at cookouts and work parties, showed me that what I thought was a winning sauce could really be something great. You can see The Wright Sauce's journey over the last 18 months beginning with our first cookoff competition at the Rolesville, NC 3rd Annual Hot Pick'n Finger Lick'n BBQ & Bands Fest hosted by Rolesville Chamber of Commerce
to coming back one year later as a featured cook!
to all the way through our Supermarket Superstar show experience,
to getting into our first local store, NC General Stores in Wake Forest NC!

Here are some Wright Sauce reviews from real customers:
In all seriousness, there really were 40+ Alaskan Railroaders at my house. The BBQ really was demolished. The sauce received RAVE reviews, and we do plan to do it again. Customer service was AMAZING. Shipping was VERY fast. The sauce is totally a fair price for a great product

Flaming Bacon has changed my life more so than any force I have encountered in the 23 years I have been on this earth. Describing the taste would be like trying to describe a color to a blind person. It's more than just a series of flavors--it's an all-important life experience that everyone should encounter. Next month I'm quitting my job and opening a chapel dedicated to it in all of its glory. My heart mourns for anyone who has to do without The Wright Sauce.

The Wright Sauce only uses the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients possible. We currently have 3 flavors, but eventually will expand to 5 or 6. The current flavors are:
So far, the Honey Apple Bacon is our top seller. At a recent event we did we sold 51 bottles in about 5 hours. Of that, 21 were Honey Apple Bacon. But, I assure you, show up to a BBQ with any variety of The Wright Sauce and you'll be a hero. People will be begging you for the rest of the bottle. I have seen fights break out over the last few drops of sauce. The Wright Sauce is that good.
Supporting Local Business, Farms + Markets
The Wright Sauce is a Wake Forest, North Carolina product with bacon sourced from The Fire Pit, bottled at Bobbees Bottling, and Sold at NC General Stores . From the (hot hot hot) habaneros we get from a nearby farm, to the sticky sweet honey from just 20 mins down the road, The Wright Sauce is truly a local, community-supported success story.
You can help many local independent businesses, farms and marketplaces by helping The Wright Sauce reach our kickstarter goal. Doing this will help us with storage outfitting, sauce full production, as well as sponsorship and marketing, resulting in helping The Wright Sauce get to the national level while helping many more local communities along the way!
How we will use the funds
Currently, we have no real storage space. Much to my girlfriend's dismay, I am taking up most of the free space in my dining room. I need an area to store and ship out the sauce. I have a barn I would like to convert into this space.
2 stories and 400 square ft
Luckily for me, I have a family member who does this type of work, but to do this we need to do the following:
Drywall ($300 dollars)
Install AC unit ($150)
Epoxy coat the floor ($150)
Half run on the sauce!
I was only able to finance a half run on my sauces. This was great to get some starter inventory for promotional purposes but we need to do a full fun to really get the gears grinding. A full run is 150 gallons. This will cost right at $2000 to do.
Let's talk rewards...
All rewards include shipping unless otherwise specified.
Mock up of the polo mentioned for $50 pledge or more:
Mock up of the hoodie mentioned for $75 or more donation:

What about the party?
Party will include all you can eat pulled pork BBQ, wings, brisket, meatballs, mac and cheese, hush puppies, and french fries. There will be live music and fun festivities to keep the party jumping. It will take place at this place:
I want to be a taste tester. How will that work?
As previously mentioned, I would like to expand my sauce line another 2-3 sauces. As I am perfecting the recipe, I will ship you out a sample to rate. Some current ideas I have are:
- Hawaiian blend with real pineapple and Jamaican rum
- Cherry sauce
- Mustard sauce
- Eastern Carolina vinegar sauce
- Carolina Reaper pepper sauce
I will ship these as often as I can and program will last for at least a year. I may extend period of time depending on how often I can get my samples out to you.
What's this about a custom sauce?
I will work with you on creating the perfect sauce based off your preferences. We will also work on creating a name and also custom artwork for the label. I will then take that and have a full batch of sauce made of which you will receive 1 case a month for the next year. You will also be included in our taste tester program.
Risks and challenges
The main challenges I face is that the BBQ sauce market is over saturated. Trying to stand out in such a saturated industry will be hard. Having an appearance on TV will help but overall the only way The Wright Sauce will ever stand out on a national level is by having people actually experience the sauce. This will take time.
Another challenge is that I also currently have a 9-5 job. Until The Wright Sauce grows large and steadily enough for me to leave, I have to depend on it. Juggling the two obligations will be tricky, but I have help as well. My friends and family are fully supportive and will do anything to be able to make sure I succeed. My step father, Russ, has extensive sales and management experience. He will be handling most of the day-t- day functions until I can leave my full time job permanently.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
