We've started this Kickstarter campaign in order to raise the funds to help us reach our goal of recording and pressing our second album. We have been asked a lot this year when we would be making the second album and even though we have had the songs that will be on the album ready for some time, we have just been unable to get all the funds put together. Being in a band is more expensive then we ever imagined. When we step back and realize the bands expenses, it is some what daunting. After recording and pressing our first album the expenses quickly added up. We have thousands of dollars invested just in the promotion of the first record and then when you add on a van, trailer, gas, maintenance, gear, website fees, distribution fees, and other small things that it takes to get our music out there, it starts to add up quickly. But we find a way to get it done and we work our asses off to make this band as successful as possible and that's where this Kickstarter campaign idea keeps this band moving forward and at the same time gets our fans involved in a whole new way.
The game plan once the funding goal has been reached is to begin recording in January and have mixing, mastering, and pressing done by April of 2013. At that time everyone will receive their rewards and we will begin promotion of the new album. We will be working with producer Tom Tatman (Stone Sour, House of Large Sizes) again on this new record and we will be recording it at Catamount Studios in Cedar Falls, IA.
Essentially this campaign is a pre order. Every donation will receive a reward package and depending on the level of donation you could end up with some pretty cool stuff and help us make a great sounding record.
We would not be where we are today and in the position to possibly make this second album without our fans. We can not thank you guys enough for all the support you have given us.
Risks and challenges
The great thing about this project for us is that it isn't our first time doing this. We recorded our first album at Catamount Studios with Tom Tatman in December of 2010. We understand how the recording process works and what to expect. Tom is very easy to work with and in our opinion is easily the best producer in Iowa. We feel everything about our second record will be better and with the help of our fans we will be able to accomplish the goal of getting the album recorded and pressed.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
