The Uroll provides a way to carry groups of things. I designed The Uroll for camping cooking utensils but others have found a myriad of uses including art supplies, makeup brushes, fishing gear, baby care items, BBQ tools, and cycling gear. The Uroll is lightweight yet heavy duty and resists puncture and water. It can roll up into at least 3 different sizes for packing into a variety of containers (backpacks, purses, tackle boxes...). One can use the self contained grommets and ties to secure The Uroll to a pack, a picnic table, a tree, an easel, a moped, or even around the waist like an apron.
I chose Battle Lake Outdoors to sew The Uroll because they are a Minnesota-based, family-owned business with a 25-year reputation built on quality and which practices environmentally conscious manufacturing. The Kickstarter funds will be used to produce the first run (we already have the prototype) of The Uroll and to design the packaging. The formation of The Uroll community and Urock The Uroll team will be instrumental in future color selections, as well as future design and product development.
The Uroll design is done, the prototype built, tested, revised, and enhanced. Battle Lake Outdoors stands ready to sew. Now all we need is U! I hope you will find The Uroll as useful and capable as I designed it to be.

Risks and challenges
I have been designing and redesigning The Uroll for 3 years with input from backpackers, trail guides, canoe trippers, physicians, hair stylists, artists and moms. Only after I felt I had adequate input did I perform a trial run and even then more revisions ensued. I spent many months investigating the most versatile and durable materials and securing a local company with experience in making similar items.
Backing other Kickstarter projects has helped me avoid pitfalls that I've seen, such as: demand outpaces supply, costs exceed expectations, or significant delays in production that leaves investors waiting months for products. I have engineered my project to avoid these traps. One of the challenges I am still working with is packing and shipping; while there are endless options available I will select the best one for this particular project and number of backers.
