Hi guys, I really can't believe that every household around the world doesn't need one, and didn't pledge for one (or 2 or...). Commiserations on the campaign. If you do get up and going, put my name on a few. Regards & don't give up, Michael Owen (Australia)

      Hi few nasic Questions.

      > Can I manually operate the water flow switch or is this an app only feature?

      > If I only want to use the unit to control water flow from shower head, can I continue doing so even after when the battery runs out?

      > A123 batteries are a little restrictive for consumers in terms of purchasing from your local store or online as these are mainly for industrial uses, is there any 'conventional' battery option instead?

      > As you have battery in a water based product, how safe is the SWON and what is the guarantee of it not electrocuting someone whilst having a shower?

      > Will you be offering a basic model that will only control water flow, as per similar devices available for your kitchen taps as an example? - basically without the connected and battery element.

      Great idea on this Product!

Regarding the battery, am I able to replace the battery myself?
Or is my only option to have you send me a replacement battery with that $20 upgrade?

And is the $20 PER device?
(i chose the 2 pack, do i need to add $40? or just $20 to have both devices covered)

I use a handheld shower head. Is this effective with such heads? What about if it has multiple pressure or spray settings? Have you tested it with these kinds of shower heads?

@The Swon -- It will be possible to configure it in the app manually? Currently for me this area is rather unclear and not covered in project description either.

    7. The Swon Creator on October 22, 2016

@Oleg Matviychuk -- The costs and savings will take into account your local water and energy rates.

    8. Oleg Matviichuk on October 20, 2016

Please, provide more information, how reliable cost calculation will be? Cold and hot water has different fee, temperature of each could be different as well.

      @Matt Burrows...
The SWON device currently uses IFTTT to talk to other smart home devices. We will make sure to take all user feedback at the end of the campaign and implement as many ideas as possible to the final product.

You will still receive upgrades without the $20 warranty.

@Darius Zaerin, to answer your questions:

The SWON requires a standard Li-Ion A123 battery so it can last as long as possible given the technology inside.

The $20 upgrade includes the following: Battery replacement before it runs out, shipped to your door (within the U.S., international rates may apply) and 3-year warranty if the device ever malfunctions or breaks.

Updates and maintenance of firmware/software and the mobile application include:
      - Integration into existing and future IoT ecosystems
      - Analytics dashboard to show water usage over time for each device and each user
      - Gameification components to see your water impact compared to those in your local community, state, country, and world.
      - Rebate integration with potential water and energy authorities for incentive programs
**All updates come standard with any SWON purchase.

I'd like to know more about this optional upgrade as well. I have no interest in purchasing, for any price, a product that requires a subscription to get functional updates. Can you confirm what exactly the $20 optional warranty provides? Particularly in regards to updates?

    12. Matt Burrows on October 18, 2016

In my first post (2nd one below this one), I meant "related" SWON app, not "rebates."

    13. Matt Burrows on October 18, 2016

Oh, one other quick question: What IOT services are you hoping to integrate SWON with? I'd love to see IFTTT and SmartThings integration!

    14. Matt Burrows on October 18, 2016

Quick question: If I do not pay $20 extra for the optional upgrade, will I still receive free updates to the services and capabilities offered by SWON? Are there any costs/fees associated with using the rebates SWON app?

hi guys. nice product! i'm really interested to see accurate temperature and flow rate data about my shower.
could you give us some more information about the $20 upgrade? what kind of batteries does the device need, and what kind of feature updates might we expect? do users who don't pledge for the upgrade not get feature and firmware updates?

      thanks, and good luck!
