About this project
This is no ordinary project.
Every Storybox is as unique as the story it tells. Each story comes straight from the hearts, minds and memories of the main characters.
Those characters are you.
Each Storybox is meticulously handcrafted in The Bronx, NYC by artisan Jordan Roberts and his sidekick-writer Kate. Once we decide together what stories you want your Storybox to tell, you'll choose what items will best represent those stories. Each shelf can represent a different stage of life, a different phase of a relationship, a different event or memory.
We work with you to make sure your story is told as you remember it, in your particular voice. Jordan sculpts every character and every piece. He carves and assembles every box and woodburns every word excerpted from the stories you share.
The Goal: 6 Months of Storybox production and a table saw
The goal of The Storybox Project is to raise enough support to fund 6 months of Storybox production. This will allow us to get the word out, and also allow us to purchase the tools necessary to create the actual boxes right here on a regular basis (borrowing a table saw isn't very fun.)
Invest in the Storybox Project, and you're lending a hand to an independent artist. You're supporting painstaking quality and attention to detail.
You're standing behind an art form that promotes personality and builds real connection.
Storyboxes bring out the beauty of real life and real people.
Whether you invest in a Storybox of your very own, or claim one of our many other personalized rewards, we at the Storybox Project are grateful for your part in our story! Thank you for helping us get off the ground. We can't wait to see what's next.
Pass it on!

$10 = Mini-Memory: Miniature Family Photo in a Frame.
If you choose to contribute $10, we'll create a tiny Storybox-scale framed photo out of any* photo you send us! Simply click the Mini-Memory option from the panel to the right, and make your contribution. We'll email you shortly with more details!
$50 = A Little Something from your story
Contribute $50 and Jordan will sculpt a miniature of virtually any item you can think of. We'll send you a small survey for you to fill out--and you'll give us all the details you'd like included in your one-of-a-kind, completely customized polymer clay sculpture!
$750 = Customized sculpture (E-mail us if you'd like two!)
It's pretty straightforward: Choose this reward, and you'll get a whimsical, one-of-a-kind caricature hand-sculpted to your specifications. Based on the photos and description you supply, your sculpture is completely customizable, from the cap on your head to the shoes on your feet! Get creative!
The Simplebox! For the same contribution, you could alternatively choose a handmade Simplebox. It's the same as the full Storybox pictured below, just without the caricatures. Tell us your stories, choose which items you'd like hand-sculpted...design your own unique treasure chest of memories!
$2000 = Full Storybox!
We are so excited about this concept--we'd make it for free if we could. The text wood-burned into the background is made up of direct quotes from stories told by the real creator of the Storybox: You! We can't wait to start working with you on designing your very own Storybox!
*The sky is the limit as far as customization goes: any props, poses, furniture, or outfits that you can think of, we will do our best to translate into fun and durable sculptures, mini-photos, and Storyboxes. The whole point of The Storybox Project is to preserve what is good, precious, lovely, worthy-of-remembrance. So we reserve the right to decline any design elements that are inappropriate or that deny or detract from the dignity of human beings.
Risks and challenges
Of course, the biggest obstacles an artist faces are shortages of time and money. If we can raise the money, though, we can make the time--which means you can create your Storybox!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
