New project: NASA Graphics Standards Manual Reissue

Hey backers,

We wanted you all to be the first to know about our follow-up project to the NYCTA Manual.

Today we launched a Kickstarter campaign to reissue the 1975 NASA Graphics Standards Manual, designed by Richard Danne and Bruce Blackburn in 1974, and famously rescinded by NASA in 1992.

If you liked the NYCTA manual, you know what to expect!

Richard Danne—one of the designers of the original NASA manual—is in full support of the project.

Our reissue will be a 220-page, CMYK printed hardcover book with an additional 5 Pantone® spot colors. It will also include rare supplemental materials like Danne & Blackburn’s original NASA presentation boards, official NASA 4x5"transparencies, a foreword by Richard Danne, and an essay by Christopher Bonanos from New York magazine.

Many thanks,

Jesse and Hamish
