2-6 Players - Ages 5 to Adult
Nothing beats a great family game where no Wi-Fi is required and all ages can compete in a ‘fair fight’. ‘Who Farted?’ was born of this. We wanted to develop a ‘who-dunnit’ card game that didn’t need a board or plastic characters, pens or paper to complicate the flow of the game or get lost. The characters were already imagined; we just needed the game-play to bring them to life. After several months, three game versions and loads of laughter we arrived at a simple game that’s brilliant fun to play, requiring nothing more than our cards.
What on earth is this?
‘Who Farted?’ comes in a cardboard box illustrated with our wonderfully weird characters. The box holds one printed set of instructions, one ‘Who Farted?’ envelope and two decks of cards: Character Cards and Action Cards.
There are 12 different Character Cards each with their own quirky nature and 4 matching cards for each Character.
Butt Hare likes to eat his own droppings, Bad Gas (Man) can only fart in your under stairs cupboard and Windy Pops smells of bin juice.
Action Cards give you specific instructions for your turn as the play moves round the group. The rules are really very easy to follow making the game quick, simple and great fun to play.
What’s the Aim of the Game?
DON’T end up with ‘Who Farted?’ because then YOU LOSE!
Collect the most pairs as you play to win points then YOU WIN! (Unless you are also left with ‘Who Farted?’…. then YOU LOSE!)
How do you Play?
First things first! Select a Character Card and pop it into the “Who Farted?” envelope. NOBODY MUST SEE WHO IT IS… INCLUDING YOU!
This means one of the Characters only has 3 cards in play. Two of them will make a pair. One will be left in somebody’s hand unable to be paired….
Once the remaining Character Cards are dealt you can begin to collect your pairs. This is how you win points. Collecting both pairs of the same Character is SUPER EXCELLENT and wins you even more points.
Players take turns to play an Action Card, there are nine different types.
You may get to steal a pair from another player. Or maybe ask for a specific card from a specific player, “Mummy have you got Major Flatulence?” Or perhaps even get to take a sneaky peak at “Who Farted?” in the “Who Farted?” Envelope. A brilliant card! Now you know who you don’t want.
At the end of your turn it is important to “Let one go”. To do this you hold out your cards face down for the next player to select one. You can shuffle them beforehand if you like. Just try to get rid of “Who Farted?” if you have it!
Play continues until all Character pairs have been made and only one card is left – the matching card to ‘Who Farted?’ and whoever has been left with this card LOSES – no matter how many pairs they have collected!
Will it make me laugh?
It’s a game with lots of jokes for kids and adults who are young at heart…
“Dad, have you got Trapped Wind?”
“Just wait a moment I need to let one go!”
“Can you pass me your Butt Hare?”
“Somebody must have Major Flatulence!”
Kickstarter is the best way for us to quickly start producing our game. We would love families to be playing Who Farted? together before the year is out. Thank you in advance for your pledge. We could not do this without your help. It is very much appreciated.
If you have any thoughts or feedback we would love to hear from you. Contact details are listed on our Kickstarter profile page.
We have tried to keep our rewards super simple:
- Offering our Kickstarter backers the opportunity for savings versus the retail price of the game where we can
- Plus early bird rewards for those who would like to get the game for this Christmas.
Unfortunately, we do need to charge shipping in addition to the pledge levels where indicated. These amounts are listed in the pledge manager.

Risks and challenges
We learnt a lot through our experience sourcing and making The Sock Game last year. Who Farted? is a much simpler challenge from a production perspective. All the design elements of the game are already created. We have quotes from 3 potential suppliers and are currently working on the final artwork for print.
A key challenge could be if we are lucky enough to go beyond our funding target and the volumes increase significantly for pre-Christmas delivery. We are discussing this already with our potential suppliers and will set availability limits on the early bird reward tiers if required.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
