UPDATE—December 29th—Attention Frequent Fliers!
We're flying an über-talented production designer in from NYC to work on our Aurora video shoot, and we could really use your help. If pledging cash isn't your thing, you can still help out by donating some miles. Please email us if you want to help out: email@example.com.
The Side Effects
UPDATE—December 10th—OMG! THANKS!
With your help, we met our first goal in just 10 days! Thank you so so so so much! We'll definitely be able to make the Aurora video thanks to your generous pledges. THANKS!
But wait, there's more!
The way Kickstarter works, if you don't meet your goal, you don't get any of the money. So we set our official goal lower than what we really need to make the video we've dreamed about. With $2,000 we can make a decent video, but to make the best video we can, we'll need to raise a little more money.
So now that we've met our first goal with 21 days left to go in the Kickstarter campaign, it's time to set a new goal: $4,000. If we can meet that new goal, we'll be able to rent better cameras, shoot at better locations, design better props and costumes; in short, we'll be able to make a better video.
We have until December 31st to raise money for the project, so if you haven't pledged yet, there's still plenty of time! If you have already pledged, you can still tell all your friends about our project. You believe in us; chances are they will, too.
Pre-production is well underway, and we're excited about starting to put together your reward bundles. Thank you all so much for your generosity and your support!
The Side Effects
We are The Sexual Side Effects, a rock-and-roll band from Atlanta, GA, and we need your help.
A music video is the best way to share our music with the world. We have an amazing opportunity to shoot the video for our debut single Aurora with award-winning director Michael Simon—but we'll need your help to do it.
Director Michael Simon, whose credits include VH1 Storytellers, America’s Best Dance Crew (MTV), The Sing Off (NBC), Rock Star: INXS (CBS), 18 live Survivor finales (CBS), and countless music and comedy specials, found us on the Internet back in February, and has signed on to help us make our music video pro bono.
We've been working out the details over the past several months. Now we're all set to start shooting in January, but we have to figure out how to pay for equipment rental, insurance, and all the other things that go into shooting a professional video.
When you pledge to support our project, not only do you receive the satisfaction of helping independent artists realize their dreams, but you also get cool stuff!
Please make a pledge today.
And have a listen to our song :)
