About one year ago we headed into the studio with five songs we wanted you guys to hear which led to the eventual release of our debut E.P. in November. Since then we have been working tirelessly in efforts to deliver our music to the ears of anyone who wants to hear it. With your help our E.P has made it around the globe and back again earning us some of the kindest and incredibly supportive fans that we're now happy to call our friends. Five songs doesn't seem enough to feed your appetites though, as many of you have been insisting on hearing some new material. To be honest, we were hoping you would say that...
Swear and Shake needs your help to keep up all this momentum we've created together! Everything is in order except for one little, tiny detail - the money. Funding a project like the one we have in store for you can take quite a toll on the shallow pockets of a New York City indie-rock band. We're counting on your continued support and generosity to make this happen. We have set the gears in motion on the production of our first full length album. Along side good friends producer Ben Goldstein and documentarian/videographer Michael Oshins we set out Fourth of July weekend to upstate New York to begin the process. We tracked the most part of ten songs and got tons of up close and personal footage documenting the making of the new record. Also in the works is the production of a claymation music video directed by Elliot Lobell for a tune off the new record called "Wrecking Ball."
We couldn't be more thrilled with the progress we've made thus far. Our plan is to release ALL of this to you. When said and done the finished product will be a full length record, a documentary film about the making of it, and a music video! However, donating through the Kickstarter gives you the opportunity to receive even more through rewards.Any contribution you can make to help us bring this project to fruition whether it be a monetary donation or just spreading the word would be appreciated tremendously. Let's get the ball rolling and make this happen!
Swear and Shake
Maybe you're wondering what we sound like. Here's our first EP, on the house.
Sure! Right here:
Excellent question. Adam (of Swear and Shake) was also the admin for the These Animals Extended Play Kickstarter last summer (when he was playing keyboards for them). When he went to launch a new project for Swear and Shake, he assumed he'd be able to change the URL, but it turns out, it's there forever. We could have made a whole new Kickstarter account, but look, we're already 15% of the way there! And hey, things could be worse-- These Animals are our good friends and we're happy to have a part of them kicking around our page.
