About this project
Thanks for stopping by and checking our project out. My name is Shane DeRolf and I am a children’s book author and Emmy award-winning writer and producer.
The Sea I See was written over a weekend last August in response to a request by the Georgia Aquarium, the world's largest aquarium. The book was designed by Emmy award-winning designers Greg Carr and Bernard Derriman and The Sea I See video that we've used in this presentation is meant to serve as an animated storyboard of what the book will look like when published.
The Sea I See interprets the issue of extinct and endangered species in a way that focuses on a love for nature's diversity. With the accompanying curriculum we are developing, The Sea I See will give children a way to channel concern into interest and care for nature and its creatures, especially those at risk of perishing forever. Our plan is to partner with aquariums, schools, and non-profits across the country and use The Sea I See as the foundation to help educate (while entertaining) kids about this important message. We've already licensed The Sea I See to the Georgia Aquarium so we're off to a GREAT start!
The $8,500 we hope to raise in our Kickstarter campaign will publish 1,000 hardcover copies of The Sea I See and provide us with the one missing component to launch our initiative across the country.
We hope you love The Sea I See as much as we do and see the value in getting these books published. We hope you decide to become a backer, at any level and if you do, we thank you...
VERY, VERY MUCH!
P.S. If you like what we're doing, please share this Kickstarter link with your friends and family and post it on your Facebook page today! Tweets welcome, too! :)
