Success: Against The Odds (Suspended)
We're going to shine light on the biggest names in music to discuss their trials and tribulations to wealth: emotional & financial.
The Scott Emo Show is capturing exclusive one-on-one interviews with some of the biggest names in music. We are going to capitalize on the BET awards weekend (Saturday, June 28-30) because that is when all of the artists, producers and everyone else in music will be in one city!
We are not going to the award show, nor will we be doing red carpet interviews - this is going to be intimate and a very focused interview session with music icons, like Chicago's very own, NO I.D., Common and many others (like Big Sean).
Our project is to create a small web-series that sheds light on real people who have real stories that have overcome significant challenges in their life. These artists are idols to millions of kids, and we are going to capture their struggles and celebrations via a one-on-one interview with host Scott Emo in a fun and interactive way that all demographics can relate to.
Host Scott Emo will ensure that each interviewee can offer concrete advice and tools the artists use to become emotionally wealthy. We all know that money can't buy you happiness (it can buy a lot of material items), but we'll find out what feeds their soul.
During each interview, we will dig deep in to the artists' personal life to understand how they persevered against all the odds they encountered. No one becomes an overnight success and everyone struggles when pursuing their dream, but each individual has their own unique story.
Some of the topics we plan on covering are: How they found their passion, how relationships with friends and family changes when the artist becomes famous, how important self expression is, how they broke a lot of rules to get to the top, what bad habits they have, what they do to center themselves, plus much more. We are also going to engage our Facebook and Twitter fans to allow them to ask a question or two to each of our guests!
The goal of each video is to showcase each artist in a real light to ultimately inspire our viewers that if they have a dream, they can achieve it too - no matter what hurdles, difficulties and barriers one faces.
We plan on filming each episode during our time in L.A. and coming back to Chicago for post-production. We will then have a weekly distribution schedule publishing the content we capture.
Here are some previous interviews we've done in the past:
Here's how we plan on using the funds: Travel expenses, video equipment, press suite in a LA hotel, post-production costs and marketing the videos on YouTube.
The Scott Emo Show family hopes you can support this wonderful endeavor and to give the opportunity of hope to potentially millions of people.

Risks and challenges
Some of the challenges could be artists timing, nothing is guaranteed in media, except for the opportunity.
After we capture all the video, post-production scheduling can be challenging, especially when we have so much content we plan on coming back with, so timing of delivering each episode could be delayed.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
