The Restoration formed in Lexington, SC in 2007. They released Constance in 2010, described by Paste Magazine as a “historical-fiction concept album exploring the changing dynamics of race, religion, class and creativity in a fictionalized Reconstruction-era South.”
The album combines shape note singing and old-time ballads with chamber pop, rock drums and synth. Constance was added to the literature and history curriculum at Spartanburg Methodist College.
