Only an hour left!!! Let's hit that Android/Ouya Stretch goal!!! $10200
Bronto, an avid astronomer/apatosaurus, finds that an asteroid is going to slam into his planet...
Luckily, he has a spaceship that's just waiting to take him to the safety of a nearby world. However, he realizes that all the other dinos are gonna die and the dinosaurial species will be snuffed out!
What are you going to do?
Well... your Bronto has turned his irritable bowels into a tool. With two lighters strapped to his utility belt, Bronto is ready to fart, launch, blowtorch, freeze blast, spread fire, and bubble fart attack his way through the dino horde. He will be grabbing up other dino eggs to space-ship incubate and become Dinokind's unlikely hero.
Bronto Blast is a classic platformer style game with some super fun abilities all centered around farting. Yeah I know... juvenile. But hey - its fun.
The game has some great baddies, and the bosses are super rad! You get to battle ol' TREX of course. Pterodactyls and Anklyosaurus will block your path to total egg domination. There are a bunch of others - Stegosaurus, Triceratops, and the SLUG... and they will keep coming.
The goal is to collect a bunch of eggs and gems so that you can amass lighters and other super gas passing tools - all while keeping up your cabbage consumption to fuel your all-important gaseous fortitude! Dastardly devious dinos will get in your path and sabotage your hero's quest.
Forge on and you will escape the Asteroid Annihilation!
There is a time limit to each attempt to get off the planet. This adds a bit more sweat to your adventure. An asteroid is coming to hit your world, remember?
Watch out for lava, tarpits, and other hazardous elements in this prehistoric world. All in all, it's a bunch of fun and totally challenging... two good things to have in a game.
Benji has been solely funding this project for the last several months while working with the small art team to create the game to its current pre-alpha stage. Money and all that, of course, runs thin when making this one's sole occupation.
It's time to get this game out of the gate.
Bronto Blast is developed using the Unity3d game engine, and we are focusing on making it device agnostic. We want to ship it for as many platforms as possible but we are targeting iOS and Android first. (Look at the stretch goals below for more info...)
Bronto Blast is in the alpha stage. A bunch of features are still getting added. It's getting better and better, so getting your monetary help to finish it up will be oh-so-wonderful.
A good amount of the art and coding has been completed, including:
3d modeling, parallaxing backgrounds, a few tunes, rigging, animation, user interface bits, game logic, combat systems....
More to do includes:
modeling, more backgrounds, more tunes, more boss fights, more tools for farting and such, more tilesets, polish, great sound effects, porting it to android, mac/pc, consoles...
This all requires time and effort from several people.
Buying life giving sustenance is required.
Pledge to support this game!
So we are a sparkly new game studio, officially started around May, 2012, and everyone contributes as much as they can. And another, more involved/ARPG game is currently in production. But the core team is Bronto-focused. They include:
Benji Brown: coder, game designer, studio owner
Daniel Cahill: 3d/Zbrush modeller extraordinaire
Bill Kiley: graphic design, sound effects, music composition
Aaron Nevins: backgrounds, tilesets artist
Eric Flores: animation/rigging master!
Its a new game studio but we have some great ideas and would love to continue making exciting and engaging games with quality assets and novel gameplay.
They are all listed on the right side but here are some previews!
Some tunes by tune master Bill Kiley, more to follow:
One of them BOSS fights!
A series of farts... serious stuff here.
Here are some shots of the high poly renders we have... and we have a bunch more too!
We will throw a few more up here on some updates...
So everyone does stretch goals on this Kickstarter thing and we have a few too!
First one is reaching $10200 for the Android/Ouya port
Second one is reaching $12000 is for the OSX/Windows port
Third one is for $17000 is for console targets... everyone can vote on that one when we reach it :)
Fourth stretch goal is $25000... which is secret, but might involve miniatures... We will reveal this once we reach the OSX/Windows port stretch goal.
Risks and challenges
As for the risks and challenges that come with completing this project...
We are a pretty tight team and have been working together for a good year now. So we have our communication pretty much figured out. All the required bits to complete the game have been mapped out but if something does come up we have friends and others with similar skills so that we can move the work around to reach the intended goal of releasing this game.
There are several ways to distribute the application and we have figured out which method we are wanting to use. We will work hard to get the game out as quickly as possible, as long as it has the polish that we and probably you desire.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
