Here's a review of the comic if you'd like to see what it's about.
Comare is a story about lust, betrayal, desperation, and obsession set against the backdrop of old Hollywood.
This fully colored twenty page comic book is the beginning of a six issue mini-series that harkens back to the dramatic romance comics that dominated sales alongside superhero books throughout the 1940's and 50's.
Co-created by illustrator Ashley St. Lawrence and writer Mario Candelaria, this series features color artist Lesley Atlansky, Zakk Saam on lettering duty, and covers illustrated by Victor Santos (Pulp Covers) and Jim Towe (Widescreen Romance Covers).
Here is a look at the opening scene of the series.
Amelia is a seemingly young, carefree woman, but in reality she has been distraught since her longtime boyfriend Bradley was shipped off to the war in Korea. Assuming the worst, Amelia finds comfort in the arms of another man as a way to distract her from her sadness.
Francis "Buster" Lombardi
Francis is a successful restauranteur and WWII veteran who moved his family west from New York to pursue his dream of opening a restaurant in Hollywood. Despite all of his success, Francis has an Okinawa-sized hole in his heart that all of the women and the booze in tinseltown will never fill.
Quick with a laugh and a beer if you needed one, Bradley was truly the life of the party. But that was before Korea. Now that he's back Bradley is looking to pick back up where he left off, but is what happened "Over There" too much for him to overcome?
Selina is a respected member of the community, a loving wife and a great mother, but she has a dark side when it comes to her husband Francis' philandering. Selina isn't afraid to get her hands dirty if it means stopping someone from taking what is hers.

We're raising $4500 to compensate our talented production team for their work on a fully colored 20-page first issue. It is our goal to use this issue as a pilot to be shopped the project around to comic publishers with the end goal being a wide release of the remaining issues.
Here is a piechart breaking down where the funds will go to should we meet our goal. Any extra funds raised through the campaign will go directly toward the creation of the subsequent issues.
Note: These figures are based on the initial goal's dollar amount and costs break-down.
