We, The Original Cowards, love records. We love the way they sound warmer and richer than cd's and mp3's; the way an album looks spinning on a turntable; and we love the album jacket and inner sleeves, etc. as a place for cool artwork, photos, lyrics and what not.
So, o.k. The Original Cowards love vinyl, but what does that have to do with this Kickstarter campaign? With your help we can put our album out on vinyl. As a band we did our best to capture the sound of an old school rock&roll record with the intention of releasing it as a 33 1/3 r.p.m. l.p. Our engineers Grant, Jason, and Thom did their best to capture the sound of the room, the sound of a band laying tracks down as a band, so that you get that organic richness (think the Stones "Sticky Fingers," Dylan's "Highway 61 Revisited," or Sabbath's "Paranoid").
The recording process is done and paid for all we need is your help to get the physical album out, an album The Original Cowards feel is going to sound awesome on good, old fashioned vinyl. We have a lot of great incentives for those who pledge a few dollars -like digital downloads- to those who pledge more than a few such as invitations to a band bbq, prints, hand crafted artwork related to song lyrics, and original songs composed to order)! With your generous help our dream can become a reality.
Here are two unmastered songs for your listening pleasure (mastering is the final process in mixing an album and helps the album to sound "radio ready").
