Have you ever started painting a room with a large paint brush, and got to a spot that you needed a small detail brush? It is frustrating, and usually you wont take the time to find another brush, get it dirty and use it. Should you just paint with the brush you have? NO! Don't compromise, EVOLVE!

With the MultiBrush, you have it covered. Just separate the assembled 2" brush into the 2 smaller (3/4" and 1 1/4") brushes and use whichever is appropriate, do the detail work, then reassemble the MultiBrush to the 2" configuration and proceed! Here is the Story!

Years ago, I was painting my living room. I had a 2" brush doing the normal trim. I came to a spot by a window that needed a small (3/4" or 1") brush. I stopped painting, went looking for my small trim brush and couldn't find it. That is when the MultiBrush was born.

Why couldn't the brush I had be separated into smaller pieces so I could continue painting in that situation?

I sat down with with Visio, and made this sketch.

The idea sat dormant for a few years, and as I entered the early "Empty Nester" stage in my life, I woke up one Saturday in 2012 with nothing on the agenda. My wife suggested I "Make that brush I have been talking about". That was all it took.

Would it work? That was the question...

Off to the hardware store for a couple brushes, some magnets and a few sharp blades and router bits. I found a cheap 2" brush that I could work with, I got home, cut a brush in half length wise, routed holes for the magnets, and glued them in.

Wait 2 hours and the glue was dry... it was time. Take the jigs off and see what the brush was all about. THE MultiBrush WORKED!!! WOW. Was I ever excited.

I immediately contacted a lawyer, and started getting the patent work going, and working on some drawings to get people interested in a licensing or marketing deal. Let's just say that the large brush companies in the USA would like me to "test" the market and do the dirty work, so that left me with one option. Get the MultiBrush manufactured and start selling.

The patent is now issued and secure, and I have worked with a sourcing company to line up a manufacturer. I have approved factory samples of the brushes that the factory is currently making, but do not have the actual MultiBrush manufacturing samples yet.

This is where we stand Today...

the MultiBrush is staged and ready for manufacturing. The factory has quoted and is ready to start tooling. I need to raise about $6,500 to get the tooling done, final manufacturing prototypes, and the first manufacturing run done!!!

This is where you guys and gals come in. Everyone will want the MultiBrush, and this is your chance to get one before they are on the retail shelf, a TV shopping channel, or even selling on www.theMultiBrush.com

Be the first one to get the MultiBrush!!!

The production MultiBrush will be just as shown in the pic below, except it will be black or grey in color and have a great rubberized finish. Color will be decided during approval process.

As soon as the project is funded, we will give the go ahead to the factory and begin the manufacturing process.

I will post regular updates to the process, and will ship the product as soon as I have delivery.

Here is an animated GIF of the first HOMEMADE prototype. Construction is rough, but you can get the idea. Consult the above drawings for final design.

Here is the schedule we have received from our sourcing partner.

Risks and challenges

Most of the risks of this project have been passed, and completed successfully. The last 2 challenges are to get it manufactured and on a retail shelf near you.

These challenges are not minimal by any means, but with your help, I will accomplish the manufacturing step, and that will put me face to face with last challenge. A retail shelf......
