STRETCH GOAL #1 - £3,000
This gives us a small additional budget so we can shoot exterior scenes and driving sequences on a special low loader vehicle with specialist camera and lighting equipment.
THE MAYORESS is a brand new hilarious sitcom starring legendary multi award winning comedy superstars JACK DEE and HARRY HILL, rising comedy star ROMESH RANGANATHAN, star of Eastenders and Coronation Street MICHELLE COLLINS and comedy actress and writer BRENDA GILHOOLY, creator of comedy character Page Three Stunner Gayle Tuesday and writer on Harry Hill’s TV Burp.
Written by Brenda Gilhooly, set in the fictional town of Mansford the show merrily satirises middle England, local politics, daft bureaucracy and the deluded nature of small time power. The councillors are always getting hot under the collar about something - new EU regulations or a pole dancing club going up next to a nursery or the latest wheelie bin disaster.
In this opening episode, Susan (Brenda Gilhooly) is elected Mayoress, much to the annoyance of rivals Tim (Jack Dee) and Denise (Michelle Collins) - they think she’s far too common. However all is not lost: when Susan vows to attend that week’s Citizenship Ceremony against Councillor Ravi’s advice (Romesh Ranganthan)... thinking on her feet’s not one of her strong points…this might just be the chance Tim and Denise are looking for, to scupper her before she starts. And with the silly, incompetent registrar Roger (Harry Hill) also in tow, the ceremony looks set to be a disaster…
The show also features:
Ella's credits include playing opposite Martin Freeman in ITV's Hardware, The Catherine Tate Show and Episodes on BBC2.
