The Last Good Country is the origin story of Ernest Hemingway and his dark descent into the Michigan wilderness to find himself.
91 backers pledged $6,064 to help bring this project to life.

We're very close to reaching our goal for the film. We can't express our gratitude enough for all you've  done to get us this far. We're in the home stretch. I know a lot of people wait until the last possible moment to donate and it's appreciated (the heart attack we get during these final hours is less)

We've still got several videos to get up introducing the rest of our crew, they should be within the next several days (it takes a little while to produce top notch videos).

On our end everything is shaping up very nicely. We've gotten 90% of our rental equipment locked down and waiting to be shipped.

Our Producer T.J is heading back up to Michigan today to do some more work with our locations. Finalizing all the paperwork (The hard parts that we don't understand) and more.

Our DP Chris and I have been hard at work going over shot lists the script breakdowns.

Nic Collins (our Hemingway) Has been working non-stop to get into Character, (He's a regular Daniel Day, this guy. We can't take him to social events because he will drink and slip into character :)  )

Once again i'll say it! Thank you to everyone who has helped us in making the fundraising possible. We are excited beyond belief to get this thing made and out into the world. It's our last project working together and we can't think of a better way to part ways than doing what we all love, one more time! We've learned a lot about Papa Hemingway in the pre-production of this film. He's an icon, on a shelf above the rest, and we believe we're making a film that is worthy of him and the stories he told.

In the end we're all just storytellers trying to entertain...hopefully we'll entertain you.
