WE DID IT!! + 3 Days to Go and Why That STILL Matters
Hellllllooooo, beloved backers! I am thrilled to announce that this morning we officially met 100% of our funding goal! This means the The Knit Show is happening!
I. CANNOT. EVEN.
Thanks to every single one of you reading this update, as of 7amCT we were at 93%. Then, a negotiation e-mail or two, later and Knitter's Pride (or KnitPro, depending where you are in the world) came in with the $5k in backing that took us home to 100%! So amazing.
So here we are with 3 days to go. So what now? Well folks, it's not quite time to claim the finish line. These next 72+ hours are actually, pretty dang important. Enter, "Stretch Goals."
When creating the initial budget for The Knit Show Kickstarter campaign, we went in VERY conservatively. We wanted to be realistic about our goal to produce the highest quality production and paying everyone a livable wage, while keeping things modest in all other aspects. That said there are two crucial elements to the success of this series that will also need to be funded, in one way or another. Any backing over 100%, will go toward the following:
PR. Hiring a reputable Public Relations company who will make sure we get the press coverage we need to ensure The Knit Show is seen globally by as many viewers as possible.
THE WEBSITE. This is a big one. Although the series in its entirely will be hosted and available on Youtube, we want to also have a home base for all that is TKS. That means building a website where the series will be viewable, information from each individual episode will be featured, products used will be accessible, and the knitting and crochet patterns (ultimately in multiple languages, but that's in the future!) be easily downloadable.
So, we've done it...but we're still doing it until April 19th.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! <---- A more personal, video message to come from Vickie once her eyes are less swollen from happy tears.
Much love and appreciation,
Vickie & Team
