Thinking of heading to Joseph right after Christmas. 3 of us and a dog. I have not used the Kickstarter reward; will it apply?

Is there an expiration on the hotel stays? I've been busy but need a couple of days in Joseph.

I have 2 kids who are STILL waiting for the picture of their brick. Has anyone heard anything about the bricks?

    4. Gina Loukareas on March 3, 2017

Will we ever see our bricks?

    5. Gina Loukareas on May 28, 2016

      Hi,
I have the same question about my pledge...

'Hi, my kids and I purchased one of the $25 bricks. I told them we should be possibly receiving a photo of "our brick" in July (that's what I read). Wondering if there is an estimate on when the brick pics might be ready? Thanks so much!'

We were just in Joseph for our son's wedding this past weekend. I didn't get a chance to stop in to say "hi" and check out the space. Hopefully next time we'll be more relaxed and able to stop in; or better yet to stay there.

Yes, thanks Mark! I was also thinking the same thing and waiting with bated breath to hear how things were coming along :) Definitely love the idea of progress in motion, no matter how slowly things are coming together, it makes us feel part of the process. Excited to see the updates soon!

Thanks for the info, Mark E.... I was thinking it was about time for an update!

Messaged Greg yesterday, asking how things are moving along and if we could get any photos/videos of, "Brick-workers doing their thing. Walls being torn down, put up, and/or painted. Anything like that would give all of us a big smile who backed this project."
Here is his response from this morning:
      "hey mark,
thanks for touching base. things are slowly moving along, the masons are meant to come set up today, actually. i'm making progress toward finishing my first room and hope to have it all wrapped up in the next couple weeks. keep your eyes peeled for an update...
      best,
      _greg"

Thank you!! This is such a fantastic project, close to my heart, my hometown, so great to see it revitalized. I knew it best when as a kid in the 50's-60's I observed it as the "hot spot" in Wallowa County, then thriving as the Chief Joseph Hotel, owned and operated by Ben & Irma Tippett -- my grandparents, aunts and uncles danced up a storm around on the bar room floor and the adjoining family restaurant was always busy, serving real food and often local ingredients -- homemade pies, fresh cut fries, hand-breaded chicken fried steak were some of the favorites.

Greg, thanks so much!! It is so wonderful to imagine, after all of the transformations I have seen this building go under in my 33 years, that it is going to be lovingly restored and used to bring beauty and artistry to this community!

Greg-- Congratulations. This is such a great project-- can't wait to see it firsthand!

    19. Jocelyn Bonhomme on June 12, 2015

CONGRATS GREG !!!! So proud to be (a little) part of it! Thank you very much for making such a great project! Hope to visit the hotel! Cheers from France!

My family (on both sides) have roots in Joseph and Wallowa Lake going back decades. My Grandfather Lorren was one of the first people to build a cabin on the lake. That area holds beautiful loving memories of family and laughter and beauty. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for bringing your love and attention to this beautiful area of the country. Best of luck and I can't wait to come out and visit The Jennings!

This is so exciting! So happy this project will be funded. Like Sam, I was curious about how reservations will work. Will you have the option to reserve nights based on when you pledged, or will it be a free for all, or will you contact folks individually? Thank you!

    22. Sam Fernandez on June 8, 2015

Congrats! I'm so glad this reached the goal! I'm really looking forward to seeing this hotel come together :)

      I have a few questions though;

      - What is the max occupancy for the rooms? Will the one night and two night tiers be able to have two people in a single room?

      - Will backers choose the night(s) they stay? How flexible is that? Is it a first come first serve basis?

      - Will the rooms have kitchens for the people doing the month long retreat?

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I'm really happy this project met it's goal! It's very exciting :)
