I feel so sad and disappointed by this. I don't make much money to begin with. I don't have much disposable income. But I wanted to support the project and believed in Rachel and I saved and worked extra hours to pay for my pledge. I was completely willing to wait--even years, but now I feel taken advantage of, and I wish Kickstarter would take more responsibility. The comic is out, it's on Amazon, but will we who helped to have it made ever get to read it?
Kickstarter. . . when you overpay for something which you don't actually ever receive.
Here is her current website/blog:
And still nothing at all on the Oracle board she owes me from the other kickstarter either.
Nope, after Titan picked it up for publishing all went silent.
Any info at all?
I am also still waiting on this, as well as the In the Dark Oracle (ouija) board that she was ustom making for backers who ordered one.
And this is the reason people have trouble trusting Kickstarter people anymore. Her supporters worked with her and were even willing to wait for the combined versions (graphic novels) and for them to be shipped together (to save her money. We waited and waited and waited. Her response to the issue was to delete her kickstarter and social media accounts and run for the hills with no explanation. From my experience with Kickstarter, this is sadly pretty common.
This is outrageous. I and other backers paid money to get those remaining issues of Anathema. How are we meant to contact the creator (Rachel Deering) if she no longer has an active account here on Kickstarter?!
Welp this is disappointing, feel cheated cause I don't think anyone got the ending or the book. ಠ_ಠ
oh wow so shes just gone now? well that's disappointing.
Well... Seems like Rachel's disappeared from the face of the social media, and Anathema feels like it will never be in my hands to read in full, the story's going to be left unfinished and I'm left feeling sad as hell for that.
Ehm... am I missing something "Rachel Deering (deleted)"??
Hi Rachel, could you give us an update on the release?
Sooo...how's Anathema going?
@Stephanie Adams-Santos - The Amazon stuff is for the Titan release. I will be sending out all volumes once they are complete to save on shipping, as discussed in earlier updates. Sorry for any confusion.
Hey--I was browsing Amazon and noticed there was an issue of Anathema on there. I wasn't sure if I missed the release date, or what. Any chance you could update me?
@Adam Buckheit - I will post an update as soon as I have a solid release date for the full story and make sure to give everyone plenty of time to update their addresses.
So is there any sort of eta on the release date because I’ll probably be moving (twice) within the next couple of months.
@martynlesbirel - It has not shipped yet. Everything is shipping at once, and I'm waiting on Titan Publishing to release the second volume.
Was this shipped ? Going through my kick starter I remember I never saw it :(
@Danielle Horvath - I believe Kickstarter has implemented a system where all backers can update their own shipping information. I will look into that when it comes time to ship and provide instructions for everyone to make sure that their addresses are up to date.
My address will be changing, should I just message you the new when the items are ready to ship?
Wow, thanks for the quick reply (too bad I didn't read it until now) Was at Barnes and Nobles and saw the trade, looks great! Can't wait to read it!
@Michael Howard - Titan is publishing the book now, and will collect the series into two nice trades. I will either be sending those when they're ready or a nice full collection. Whatever Titan deems best. Single issues are not being produced at all.
Any updates? will I get the single issues, or a tpb?
Personally I'd prefer a hardcover.
@Rafa - That depends on what you guys and gals want. I can print up single issues for you, or I can send the hardcovers.
I just saw Anathema on previews magazine, page 368. Will we be getting single issues or the GN mailed to us?
I am still alive. Titan has picked up the series for publication. The first trade will be released in April, I believe. A second trade will be released soon after, and it will all be finished and in the hands of backers. I apologize that it has taken so long, but this project has seen problems from day one. It was my first comic series, and I've learned a lot along the way. Please do not worry. I will deliver every bit of what was promised.
Rachel, are you still alive? It's awfully quiet here.
I'm starting to worry.
Any updates? It's been another 4 months sinds the last update.
@Rafa - I just sent an email to the publisher to see when our announcement was going to be made. I will let you know just as SOON as I get the go-ahead from them. Promise!
any news on who will be the publisher?
It's been a while since the last update, any news? Really looking forward to the rest of the story...
@Dale - Right. It has not.
This hasn't shipped yet right?
Awesome, Thank You!
Hey Leslie, I have a new shipment of books coming that are intended to fulfill the comix tribe reward tiers. I expected them weeks ago, but the printer is taking a bit more time. As soon as those are in, the CT packages are going out, and I can reclaim a large chunk of my living room! Haha.
Have the Comix Tribe packages gone out?
Kimberly and Linda, neither of you should be concerned. A few updates back, I asked about sending the remaining issues out as one package deal to save on shipping, while still providing backers with PDF copies to hold them over until the physical books arrived. Everyone commented back and told me to do whatever I needed to in order to save a bundle on shipping, so that's what I had planned on doing. You will receive all of the issues at once, so no worries, your books aren't lost in the postal system or anything.
I pledged at the $45 level and have yet to receive any printed copies. Should I be concerned? Linda_cartwright@att.net
don't know if you sent out any of the other physical anathema copies but I'm still waiting for issue 2 onward personally (I have the first copy of anathema from backing the other kickstarter project though).
You just made Bleeding Cool, nice job.
No, thank YOU, Ron. I'm glad the books arrived safely. Thank you for being patient. I know they took a while to arrive.
Got mine today and they are in great shape and gorgeous. Thank you.
Hi, I see in January you still had some issues to send out. Have they all been yet, because I'm still waiting on getting my first two issues.
Any updates on the pin up reward?
Hey Rachel, still looking for my copies. Getting close to a year...lol.
