we have lift-off
Velocipedes! Velocipedes as far as the eye can see! In the past month we've moved into a new shop, purchased a second CNC machine, tightened up our production line, and now these little critters are multiplying like rabbits. Next week we'll be sending out the postcards and crankshafts, and we're on track to send out the Early Birds by the middle of October! Things are really looking up for our wee hero; here are some details:
Our new location is fantastic. The space is located in the historic Portland Cement Company building, a rustic 100 year old warehouse beneath a bridge. The building is currently being converted into a practice space for musicians, which turns out to be a great place to make things. Music is always reverberating from somewhere during the workday, and we know it's time to wrap up for the evening when the metal drummer starts his nightly double-bass-pedal practice.
Also, we were lucky enough to be invited to show the Velocipede at the XOXO festival, which took place right up the street. This was our first opportunity to show the toy off in public, and the response was overwhelming. Through a series of deft tweets, the Velocipede managed to win itself a 3D printer from Makerbot!
