There are five (5) important beliefs that have driven my passion and guided my creation of The Game of Politics over the last 3 years:
1. A majority of Americans love their country.
2. A majority of Americans are realizing that their country is NOT being run in a prudent and wise manner.
3. A majority of Americans are realizing that the arrogant, self-serving, leftist, liberal, socialists who are governing our nation has led to less freedom and liberty, less prosperity, more government bureacracy, a lower standard of living, a higher national debt and the destruction of our moral foundation.
4. A majority of Americans would love a trivia game that reflects a view of this nation from a constitutionally conservative perspective rather than a leftist, liberal, socialist methodology.
5. There is no constitutionally conservative trivia board game on the market today.
The Game of Politics fills this void.
This unique board game is easy to play, with carefully designed, multiple choice questions.
I am raising funds for the initial manufacturing run of between 5,000 and 10,000 physical board game units. I will be marketing these in a variety of ways. I would also like, if sufficient funds are raised, pursue having this game in web-based, internet format.
With your help, we can:
> Help the United States function in a way that more closely reflects its founders' original design.
> Push back against the frontiers of ignorance that pervade our public schools
> Showcase the genius of our republic's founders
> Expose liberals, statists, socialists, fascists and Marxists...as well as debunk their worldview
> Introduce the conservative message of self-reliance, self-defense, respect for life, limited government, free enterprise, prosperity and liberty both here and around the world.
Please help me achieve this goal and fulfill my passion in bringing this game to market. Any size gift, large or small will help in this worthy endeavor!

Risks and challenges
As a technical writer, amateur videographer and photographer, small business owner and a relatively computer-savvy guy, I have a 'good handle' on the technical expertise that a project like The Game of Politics demands.
But, I realize that it is not just WHAT you know...but WHO you know. Thus, I surround myself with many people who are even more knowledgable and talented than I...in the arena of website design, graphic artisty, video editing, videography, and marketing.
In the legal arena, I am just 30 minutes away from my legal team at Cunningham Dalman, PC, who have been immensely helpful in this long quest of bringing The Game of Politics" to market.
And, being just 90 minutes from one of the nation's premier board game card game producers (the company that will be manufacturing this game) allows me to 'drop in' and check on how the projects are coming along at a moment's notice.
A word about manufacturing. I have spent 25 of my 35 working years at manufacturing facilities. I know what is required to hit "ship dates", and have worked 80+ hour work weeks (an multiple occations) to make it happen. If we reach (or exceed) our funding goal, I will be pouring every ounce of my energy into creating the finest, highest quality board game possible...and have it packaged, shipped and delivered on time.
By the way, I am very familiar with what is required to satisfy customers. Meeting deadlines, establishing relationships and keeping happy customers comes second nature to me. A good example is my Ebay track record. I've been a seller since 1999, and have NEVER had a negative feedback...with over 900 transactions.
Now, let's talk about a concern I have had since the inception of The Game of Politics. I am fully aware that there are a plethora of images of public figures on the game board. Now, many may think that, because the photographs in The Game of Politics are of public figures, they are "fair game", and thus, there is should be no "legal concern" at Cutting Edge Games, LLC. Such a view is only half-right.
The fact is that, even though the people photographed are public figures, the photos were also taken by others...who sometimes demand compensation (or other acknowledgement) for the use of their photographs. One of the issues I have discussed with my attorney is the "Fair Use Doctrine" and its applicability to The Game Of Politics (both images and quotes). My attorney has ZERO concern about the use of quotes in the game (they are all documented...and quotes from conservative authors' books will likely be welcomed). However, my attorney's biggest concern is in the arena of photographs used throughout the game (in drawing cards, game pieces and even on the game board). Here is a simple legal overview.
1. An argument can be made that the images are "thumbnail size" (believe it or not, an actual court decistion used this term) thus the "Fair Use Doctrine" applies.
2. An argument can be made that the images in The Game of Politics are used as "parody" (a term also used in a court decision favoring the defendant), thus the "Fair Use Doctrine" applies.
3. An argument can be made that the images in The Game of Politics are for "educational purposes" (also part of a court decision favoring a defendan), thus the "Fair Use Doctine" applies.
I realize that an "aggrieved" party can sue anyone for any reason. And I also realize that it MAY be possible that (if not probable) that a court would rule in The Game of Politics' favor based on the three (3) arguments listed above. However, I am not, one to take chances. Thus, I am currently reviewing software that easily converts the images on the game board, trivia cards and game pieces into "caricature" type images. If you've seen The Weekly Standard magazine, you will get the general idea. The caricatures will not be too zany, but they will DEFINITELY differ from any direct resemblance to the photographs of origin. This tough but necessary decision will allow The Game of Politics' team to stay focused on what matters...creating the finest constitutionally conservative board game in America...and NOT spending contributors' money and our time in court.
To be crystal clear, the images of people you are viewing (in the Kickstarter video as well as videos and still photos on the website) are NOT what will be in the final manufacturing run. But trust me, you will be impressed with how the caricatures reflect the images therein. I will work tirelessly to make certain of that end result.
