Elected The Game

Become the next President of The United States, voted on by the other players in the game. Start off as a citizen and slowly move up the chain of command by answering hot topic questions.

The path to The Presidency consist of 20 levels. Everyone begins as a Citizen and will work their way through 10 positions beginning as a District Leader, then City Leader, Mayor, State Leader, Governor, House of Representatives, Senator, Cabinet, Vice President and Presidential Candidate. There are then 9 topic categories in which a Presidential Candidate must complete: Economy, Education, Healthcare, Domestic/Social, Environment, Religion, War & Defense, Immigration and Miscellaneous. The first person to make it through the rigorous test of questions will be Elected President.

Game Play

All players must select their choice of a numbered red, white, or blue star game piece and place it on “Citizen”. Each player will then be equipped with an official elected note sheet, pencil, and a blue “yes” and “no” card.

The 9 topic cards should be separated by category and placed in front of the designated reader. If you do not want a designated reader, then you also have the option to rotate each question after each turn. Once a question is read aloud, then each player is to write down the question’s number and check mark either yes if they agree with the question or no if they disagree with the question on their individual elected note sheet. After all players have written down their answer they must then place either their blue yes or no card face down in the center of the table. A designated player will then count the votes and all players with the majority may move onto the next office. The players who do not win the majority must stay where they are. If there are an even number of players and the vote is split, then no one shall move and the next question will be read.

Once a player/players move on past the Presidential Candidate round, the topic of questions must be from the player that is on the highest level. Example: If there is one player set on Environment and another player is set on War & Defense, then a War & Defense question must be asked since it is closer to being elected.

The player who becomes elected President will then be the winner of the game.

Elected The Game is meant to be a fun political discussion game. As the game progresses, the issues can get a bit heated. The point of the game is to become the President, however, the underlying objective is to get into some gritty discussions about issues that are affecting our everyday lives. Let's see if we can all come to some sort of agreement on each topic so that we can move forward as one nation! It's interesting to find that some of your friends or family members who are on opposite ends of the the political spectrum can actually side with you on certain views. It is the most fun and intense game you will find on the market today.

The Concept/Design

I got the idea for Elected The Political Discussion Game after seeing a divide in the United States on a range of issues. It seemed like every topic was split 50/50 whether it be in neighborhoods, cities, states and especially in Congress. The idea evolved from there after the election of Donald Trump as President. It made me realize that anyone could become President of The United States and it all has to do with your views and ideas.

The box design was all hand drawn and meant to portray the vintage style of the old Milton Bradley games. The characters were first likened to Hillary Clinton and John F. Kennedy as shown below. It is not only a fun game but also visually pleasing.

Risks and challenges

Elected is meant to create healthy debates and discussions. There may be several cards in which some may find offensive and do not agree with. Please understand that this is just a game and is meant to be played for fun.
