Help us, Brad Standley & The Foxflies, realize our goal of shooting two beautiful music videos over two days. *We have met our minimum goal but we would love to push to $10,000. With that we can make our sets more beautiful, have the crew eat healthy food on set (a lot of money for 30 people per day!) and begin to pay those putting a month's work into this project! Thank you!
Hey, we’re Brad Standley & The Foxflies and for the past two years we’ve been doing this all on our own, with no label help whatsoever. In that time we’ve released a full length LP called The HYBRID and we are currently mastering a follow up EP to be released in the near future. We toured Europe, will soon be touring Mexico, and we’ve shot two fully produced music videos and several acoustic-live videos.
- Hit The Road Jack – music video
- Monday Night Rockstar – music video
- The Circus – live acoustic video
- Watcha Gonna Do – live acoustic video
What we’re looking to do is minimize cost by shooting two music videos back to back.
Our cover of "Hit The Road Jack" was the first music video that we shot off of our new EP and we would like to get the second single out into the world, which is an original called, "I Kinda Like". The video will star Brad Standley & The Foxflies as a marionette toy band and Celia Diane as a tattered ballerina doll. To a slightly drunken gypsy beat, it discusses finding the beauty in the flaws of others because the same flaws live inside us all.
The second video, which would be shot the following day is our mash-up cover of "Tik Tok" by Ke$ha and "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes. That’s right… you heard me. We call it "Tik-Tok-Nation". It’ll be a provocative 4-minute, one-take video ending in a large dance number quite possibly involving roller skates. This is just something that has to exist in this world, right?
In order for us to truly take the next step as a band it is imperative that we have enough top quality material to market ourselves. These projects could really give us the leg up that we need to make it in this very difficult business and we would love for you to become a part of it.
Even though we've decided to walk the harder road of the independent band, we have been very lucky and some would even say blessed to work with incredibly talented and professional people. Therefore, the bar has been set very high and we owe it to the people who believe in us to meet and surpass those expectations.
WHY DO WE NEED MONEY ?
To shoot both those music videos we are going to need to rent a studio space (a superb warehouse in Silverlake, CA), to rent equipment (lighting, camera, lenses and a crane!), to buy art direction supplies for creating two awesome sets, to create costumes and to feed the crew for 2 days! And all that, guys, even with a lot of love, voluntary service, and help, ends up costing money…
We shoot the 11th and 12th of September. The bidding begins NOW!
Kickstarter is the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world. Every month tens of thousands of amazing people pledge millions of dollars to projects from the worlds of music, art, film, technology, design, food, and other creative fields. Every Kickstarter project must be fully funded before its time expires otherwise NO MONEY goes to the project – or to us.
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DON’T REACH OUR GOAL
If we don't raise our goal, we don't get anything. Donors pledge the amounts, but don't actually pay until the goal is reached and the funding deadline has passed. We want to avoid this so please spread the word. Everything helps! When we meet our goal we will begin production on these back-to-back music videos so that we can get these into your hands and into the hands of the world.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
These videos are only going to be possible with the help of you (Friends, Family, Music fans, Members of the Foxfly Nation). We want these to be your projects just as much as they’re ours. The more people who participate the more chance we have of getting this music out to the people who need to hear it.
If you back our project you can sign in with your name or with an anonymous username that you'll have to make up like "secretspyfunder", or "anonymous77", or something...
To help out please Twitter it, "Like" us Facebook, email this Kickstarter link and let your friends, family, supporter groups, and co-workers know about the band and this campaign. We would love for people to get involved on a local level. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to get involved.
FROM THE VOICES OF THE DIRECTORS TO YOU
We are a young tandem of up and coming female directors who commonly work together. We are also good friends of Brad's and fervent supporters of his music. We have over 20 people donating their time and creative talent for over a month to get these two videos made. We will be continuously posting a video blog that you can have access to at a certain donation level. We will discuss the fun, the technical, the logistical, and the art behind the scenes as we go through this creative process. Please come along with us for the ride.
