Five Productivity Tips to Start Off the Week

Hello Awesome Backers!

We'd like to share five productivity tips with you before you get your Focus Journal. Feel free to comment and share your own tips below. Btw, we are over 90% funded and so close to reaching our goal!

Productivity tips

Plan your day before checking your emails- don’t open your inbox first thing in the morning. It’s to easy to get lost replying to messages while time flies by. It also makes you reactive and it gives a false sense of being busy/productive. To really be productive you have to be acting on your own plan. Planning your day first will allow you to see the bigger picture and make smarter decisions on what tasks to prioritize.

Divide the work into long term goals and smaller achievable tasks - Always start with your most general, bigger goals then break them up into long term projects, short term projects, and finally manageable daily tasks. Anything is achievable if you have the right roadmap and proceed one tiny step at a time. Don't try to skip ahead, it won't work and will only discourage you.

Track your progress - You can use our system of using a split circle to track complete vs incomplete tasks and transfer your incomplete tasks to the next day. Look back at your long term goals everyday to make sure you're on the right path and to re-evaluate them. Goals can and should evolve.

Turn off notifications & Schedule your distractions - notifications are distracting and make you lose your focus. Instead of having distractions interrupt your work flow, schedule them at specific times. Also, don't forget to schedule fun distractions and take breaks. The Focus Journal will include lots of suggested fun tasks you can do to recharge your brain. Over time, you'll start replacing useless distractions with positive ones that will actually improve your days.
