We've got an estimate for fabrication!

Dear Backers,

I am extremely proud to share with you this fabrication estimate for wrapping the real Saturn V moon Rocket inside the Davidson Center at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL.

Because of the support from so many backers we were able to finish the construction ready drawings, which has brought us to where we are today.... with a preliminary construction budget.

I've waited for 4.5 years for this moment. I had no idea how hard it would be to just get to this point, but I am glad we continued to THINK BIG and stick to our Dreams! We still have a few more "toll booths" to get through, but we are closer than ever before.

As you know, we only have permission to wrap the vertical Saturn V, not the real Saturn V in which this estimate is intended.

We still need to be granted permission from the Smithsonian, NASA, and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center to wrap the real Saturn V.

To help our case....

  • The construction ready drawings are complete. So we know logistically it's possibly.
  • We have a preliminary fabrication /construction/ install/ take down budget.
  • Artwork is arriving in greater numbers than ever before. We have already organized 162 exhibits with art submissions. If we can complete a remaining 28 exhibits with 100+ artworks in each show - we will have the art we need to complete this wrap. This is really looking good.

It's hard for me to get folks - at the top - to pay attention - but perhaps if they knew we had funding in place it would give them a reason to review our proposal.

Is there a way to coordinate a pledge drive, without collecting pledge dollars yet, unless the project was permitted?

What do you all think?

Dreaming Big,

Jennifer
