There are two large boxes sitting in Osaka, Japan with "Brave GentleMan" written on them. The various components: shoulder pads, zippers, interfacing, lining, etc - are already paid for. But they will not make it to Italy without your help.
I launched The Discerning Brute in 2008 as a resource for guys who want to indulge in fashion, food and fun, and heighten their enjoyment knowing that the choices I offer meet the most stringent aesthetic and ethical standards. Brave GentleMan emerged three years later, both brand and eCommerce brother-site featuring my own tie line, exclusive shoe collaborations and other specialty men's items.
As a professor of sustainable fashion at LIM College in Manhattan, I have come to the realization that the most thrilling modern developments in fashion are also the most crucial. Fashion reflects how we see ourselves - and fashion affects everyone. It is both a massive global industrial complex affecting people, animals and ecosystems everywhere, as well as one of the most relevant, deep-seated expressions of personal identity.
For the past 2 years, I have been researching and developing the world's first sustainable and vegan men's suits made in Italy with high-tech Japanese components, fine Italian textiles and expert Parisian designs. Now, all that stands between me and the construction of the first sample suits is very pricy international shipping costs to get the hi-tech, recycled Japanese components from Osaka to the factory in Noale, Italy.
If you are able to help make these suits a reality, please donate today. There is very limited time. I need at least $2500 to cover all shipping fees. Any less and I don't get a cent. More, and I can make them better and faster!
