We are making a music video for our song, On the Ground. It's about writing electronic music underground in our native Tehran, Iran.
Hey, thanks for taking time to check out our project. We are The Casualty Process, an electronic rock band from Iran underground music scene. We (Natch and Shayan) started working together in 2001. Because of the restrictions on music in Iran, we faced a lot of obstacles continue what we do: Making music.
Needless to say it is not an easy life to live in such a music scene. In 2007 we were even arrested by the police at one of our concerts. We were sent to jail and our instruments were confiscated! This could have been the end of our dreams. But the story was not to end like that. We told ourselves, “You can take my guitar but you cannot take my mind.” We resolved to move on and fight for what we believe in: Music.

Finally, following a long and exhausting struggle, with many ups and downs, the day we were waiting for arrived. We were back on stage after four years! We had an opportunity to tour the US and play TEDx Conference, Festival of Ideas, The Impossible Music Sessions, Nashville Film Festival, Stanford University, WNYE radio, KCSB radio and many more. We had the inexplicable feeling of being in front of audiences again. This is what every musician needs: To be heard.

Also The Casualty Process debut EP entitled [UN]even was released in July 2011 in New York. The album features series of character and figures inspired by our real lives. Each character has a story; hopefully they will be published as a series in the near future.

Before we return to Iran to again struggle against the limits there, we have something really important to do. We want to make our very first music video.
That's why we started this campaign on Kickstarter. As independent musicians we always try to make the most of opportunities, and now we have an idea of making this video--in fact a short film--for the song "On The Ground".
We are particularly passionate about this track, which we feel captures our story better than any other. “On The Ground” (released with the EP [UN]even and available to download on TCP website) tries to capture the emotions we went through while living in a basement in Iran and making our music in secret. You’d probably think we were crazy if you knew that our rehearsal studio was surrounded by two police stations on one side and a mosque on the other.

But we never lost hope. We were always picturing the light behind the doors. That’s what kept us alive. And that's how "On The Ground" was born, bubbling and forcing its way up, like oil, from the underground, exploding into real life.
We can’t do this alone. That’s why we are reaching out to music-lovers everywhere and making available some cool rewards. Thanks so much for being with us on this adventure.
Peace, Love and Noises
