Tony Mann, a famous singer in the twilight of his career is met by a Siren and faced with a fateful decision: his art or his life.
The Bluest Note is an honest portrait of a famous singer in the twilight of his career trying to hold on to what he once had. When he loses his voice, Tony Mann is forced to choose between pursuing his Siren, the source of his inspiration, or accepting his new reality.
All too often we see “Behind the Music” stories about famous musicians and entertainers that rise to stardom, but you rarely hear about the other side of success. History tells us that some of our most revered musical geniuses were just as pained as they were glorified by the very craft that lead them to fame, fortune, and eventual isolation. These artists were seen to the public eye one way but were actually wrestling with many demons and battling depression. The story of Tony Mann represents the common untold story of how an artist whose love for their craft can eventually lead to their demise.
The Bluest Note is for anyone who can appreciate a candid look at a crooner, invoking the likes of Donny Hathaway, Otis Redding, and Marvin Gaye in a modern day setting forced to deal with the harsh realities of success.
HOW YOU CAN HELP.
In order to bring this compelling story to life we will need your help to secure the resources and talent to complete the project. We have already shot half of the film and will need three more shoot dates to finish principle photography. The budget will include renting locations such as a hotel with balcony, a nightclub/lounge, hiring a body tattoo artist for the Siren, equipment rental, permits, cast/crew, food, transportation, special efx and post production. After the film is completed, we will submit to festivals around the world, as well as develop a feature length film based on the short. We appreciate your support on this journey and also have some cool prizes for those who contribute!
