About
Lestat is a legendary goth band from Cleveland, Ohio that formed in the summer of 1989 among a group of friends with a love for the Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles. Their history has been shrouded in mystery and the unknown for well over a decade, since the band faded away in the year 2000. They have since reformed in 2010, and several of their original releases are now available digitally.
However, there has always been a desire to put the entire history of Lestat from the years 1989-2000 into one box set. Now, the band has gathered unseen and unheard materials together to do just that. Photos, live footage, remixed and unreleased music, as well as the original members of the band gathering to add their commentary and stories to this collection.
This set contains:
- 4 audio CD's - "Theatre of the Vampires", "Grave Desires", "Vision of Sorrows" and a CD featuring extra tracks and remixes.
- 1 DVD with live footage of the band from various shows with original member commentary and storytelling.
- 1 Booklet with original credits, lyrics, backstory and unseen live and promotional photographs taken through the years.
Lestat's fans have given them undying support through the years, and now the band is coming to them for help in making this project a success. Any donations will be met with absolute gratitude, and every donation will give a printed credit on the packaging. Thank you.
Risks and challenges
The only real risk to the project is the all-or-nothing approach to a Kickstarter campaign. Should we fail to meet our campaign goal, all money will be refunded and the project will halt.
The packaging is completed and the live DVD is nearly finished. There is no studio time required, as all of the music is produced and ready for printing. The manufacturer has been selected and the quoting has been verified. The cost of this campaign will cover the production of the box set, as well as cover the fees incurred by Kickstarter.
