THE 2015 THEATRE REVOLUTION
The Hive turns five in 2015, and to celebrate such a milestone year, the minds that brought you WHO ARE YOU?, Edward Albee’s AT HOME AT THE ZOO, A BEHANDING IN SPOKANE, and number of other groundbreaking premieres to the SLC stage, now aim to change your perceptions (or misconceptions) of the theatrical arts altogether. A revolution of the mind, if you will? It’s time to take a stand against boring theatre once and for all. Simply choose from one of the many affordable Sponsor Packages and join The Revolution today!

May 8-16, 2015 @ The Sugar Space
Five local playwrights team up with five local actors to create one phenomenal script about…absolutely nothing. THE SECRET LIVES OF CLOWNS By JARED GREATHOUSE
Oct 9-17, 2015 @ The Sugar Space
At first glance, it would seem successful theatre critic Johnny Harris leads a happy, healthy, normal life. With a great job, and a loving wife and family, how could one not be happy? But when Johnny receives news about the brutal murder of an old clown college chum, dark secrets from Johnny’s past begin to surface, including Mr. Wiggles; a Punk-Fu Party Clown with a wild imagination and a hedonistic appetite. Embrace your inner clown for this "pie in the face" Dramedy from local playwright, Jared Greathouse. "LOVE . . . MURDER . . . CLOWNS."
A special bonus production for the Revolution!
COCK by Mike Bartlett
June 19-27, 2015 @ Sugar Space
Making decisions can be tough. Falling in love, even tougher. But when deciding between a longtime boyfriend and a newfound female flame, ideas like “identity” and “sexuality” seem to complicate things a bit. Written with no stage direction and with specific instructions for no props or scenery, COCK by Mike Bartlett strips down theatrical facades and shines a spotlight on the ever-unfolding drama of the situation at hand. A must-see for the hot summer season. Directed by William Cooper Howell.

Risks and challenges
Maintaining any type of theatre company can be a challenge. However, over the last five years, The Hive has proven themselves by making wise and realistic decisions, as our humble little company grows and expands year after year. But we also have committed ourselves to providing a platform for our community. This can sometimes be risky, but nothing worth while in this life ever came without risk. Our risk/wildcard for 2015; COCK a play by Mike Bartlett. A project spearheaded by local favorite, William Cooper Howell!
And let us not forget the financial risk involved. Here are just a few examples of what a small independent theatre company like us is up against.
-Fake stage blood
The list goes on and on, but we can pull it off. Because we're all in this together! Long live The Revolution, long live The Hive!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
