E is a cutting edge, sustainable women's dressed casual clothing line featuring original prints and hand dyeing.
The Atelier E is an eco-friendly, metropolitan clothing line for women. This clothing label by Emily Peters features elegant, asymmetrical cuts paired with precise tailoring. The Atelier E's exquisitely cut garments are also lovingly and expertly hand-printed and hand-dyed. While the look is sleek, modern, and a little bit dangerous, the clothes are definitely all goodness. The fabrics are rich and sumptuous, and also organic and sustainably produced. Emily and The Atelier E will always be advocates for Sustainability and Human Rights.
The way Emily sees it, businesses should have been doing what's in the best interest of the earth and its people from the very beginning. Though we have some catching up to do to reverse the harm we've done, we can do it with a few minor changes in our daily habits. She's writing bite-sized articles on The Atelier E's blog to help everyone make Greener choices. Check it out at www.TheAtelierE.tumblr.com!
Emily loves to create! And she especially loves to create stunning and wearable clothes and jewelry. Every woman is a work of art, and it is E's pleasure to dress and accessorize them consciously and sustainably.
At the moment, Emily is something of a one-woman show. She designed, patterned, dyed, printed and sewed every sample. Luckily, she had a great education at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities where she earned a B.S. in Clothing Design, as well as a fantastic internship with Dadadie Brucke and designer, Jessika Madison-Kennedy. (Check out www.dadadress.com). For full production, Emily would love to employ - at fair wages, of course - the very talented and speedy sewing contractors in her area to fill orders when The Atelier E launches. The Reflection Collection will be launched in May 2012!
Reflection is the first collection from The Atelier E. In addition to the hand dyeing and printing that will always be a hallmark of the E name, this collection's silhouettes include high waist lines, ultra minis, asymmetrical elements, and 12 foot long Infinity Belts . . . And you could own one! check out the rewards. Over here -->
Emily collaborates with other artists and designers to create the outfits for The Atelier E. Her primary cohort is Jacqueline Soir. Soir, a Fine Art Photographer, created one of the three prints (T-Pins) and she photographed the sneak previews that Emily collaged into a surrealist series. One of these collaged photos appears above - 'E & the Snails'. Ms. Soir will continue to be a major part of The Atelier E after its launch. View & purchase Jacqueline Soir's work at http://jacquelinesoir.blogspot.com/
Select pieces among the first samples are hand-dyed with non-toxic dyes in small batches by Emily herself in her studio. For full production, Emily will be working with a very talented textile artist to add a beautiful array of eye-pleasing colors to the mix.
Emily collaborated with an amazing team of professional and creative individuals to make the incredible fashion video above. Filming, co-direction, and editing by Brundel; original track - "E" - by Mamowl Houndstooth (a.k.a. Forrest Darden) and modeling by Franki Love, Samantha Skye & Sarah Rodeberg. Brundel also graciously filmed and edited the E Project Video. Thanks Brundel!
Your support will help The Atelier E:
+ Produce first orders (purchase fabric, employ a local textile dyeing artisan and local stitching contractors at fair, living wages)
+ Create marketing packages to place The Atelier E in shops and boutiques
+ Pay Photographers and Models to properly market the line
+ Produce a Launch Party/Fashion Show
Emily has already achieved some pretty amazing things! She created the very sexy and earth-loving Piaz Jewelry in December 2009. It was instantly met with awe and admiration. Since its launch it has been steadily climbing to success. Take a look at this hot & eco-friendly line of jewelry - www.PIAZjewelry.com. Piaz is already becoming a part of The Atelier E.
Emily & Jacqueline have both been featured on EarthGirlz.org! That's right, they are both certified EarthGirlz and Beautiful Heroines of the Eco-World. Check out their feature stories at www.EarthGirlz.org.
E has been in the works for over 5 years, and it's ready to meet the world! Thanks to your contributions, it will come to fruition at last! Updates will be coming with more information, but please ask questions. Emily is so grateful for your support and all backers will be mentioned and thanked by name on The Atelier E's website.
Pre-orders are also welcome. A Kickstarter Update and a blog post will be published on www.TheAtelierE.tumblr.com and www.facebook.com/TheAtelierE as soon as www.TheAtelierE.com's shopping cart is up and ready.
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
