#iBelieve in Indie Film
What is THE ANNIVERSARY? A feature length independent film written by Alison Monda (@Alisonmonda) and Directed by Collin Joseph Neal (@FVFFilm). It is a thrilling ride set in the Pacific Northwest. The script has been hailed as both laugh out loud and hide your eyes terrifying. If "Bridesmaids" and "Cabin Fever" could reproduce and create a film, it would be this.
"Five girls head out to a cabin on the anniversary of a husbands death. One of them guards a dark secret. Revenge stalks them in the night."
What is "The Anniversary" Movie?
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
Here is where YOU come in. Please take a look to the right side of your screen… --------------->------------------->-------------->-------------->------------->
This is where you can look over the rewards and perks we've designed around YOU! Why? Because this film is a fan-funded. What does that mean? In short, the backers contribute to fund the production of the film.
We have determined that the bare minimum we can make this film for is $30,000. With that we create jobs for 20 + working adults. And in this economy, we can be grateful for any and every job that is available!
We don't want you to think that this number is subjective however. So we want you to see our projected budget. Where EVERY DOLLAR can be accounted for. Where we are currently cutting corners and where we can UNLOCK ACHIEVEMENTS is we exceed expectations.
Please check out our budget below!
We wanted to show you exactly where the money will be spent so you know exactly what you are helping pay for. We are keeping it real. What you’ll notice is there are some missing elements, elements that are visible as our expendables. Things like submitting to festivals, or the travel there and back again. Not unlike a Hobbit’s tale, they are an adventure and a key element in SELLING the final product. Indie Film is a new world, and unlike studios we go to festivals to drum up interest. Ergo, we wanted to show you what it would take to bring it to a festival near you so you can see us face to face.
Meet the A-Team!
The Director: Collin Joseph Neal graduated from Seattle Film Institute in 2008, having belted over a dozen short films while in attendance there, honing his skills in every corner of film. Upon graduating, he started from the ground up when he was hired to be an intern in the camera department for the Cuba Gooding Jr. feature WRONG TURN AT TAHOE for North by Northwest Productions (NXNW). He continued working for NXNW, jumping at the chance to join the editing team for the feature GIVE 'EM HELL MALONE. After that he moved to Seattle and married his best friend Producer/Actress Erin (Hemenway) Neal and established their company Faith vs Fate Productions. He has filmed and edited for Sitara Group and Social 27 creating innovative industrial video productions. In the last year and a half he has written and produced over a dozen short films, including the award winning short film RED and Directed the Russian WWII drama ZINKA. This will be Collin's first feature as a Director, he is excited to take on this new challenge.
Director of Photography: A freelance camera operatior from Guam who now resides in Seattle, Alan Certeza has paved his own path. His hands on experience with the RED MX, Epic, HD-DSLR, HDV, SD and broadcast makes him an invaluable asset to this production team. Over the three years, Alan has been on set in a variety of positions for over 17 films including the thriller feature HALCYON, sci-fi time bender JUDAS KISS and interpersonal drama NOTHING AGAINST LIFE. He then took the reins as cinematographer for MATTEO'S GAME OF DANCE and invested in his own RED MX camera package to advance his own skills and the quality of the films he shoots. Alan is excited to tackle this feature film, capturing the texture of the 1980's with modern technology. Check out a a peak at some of his film work HERE.
The Writer: Alison Monda began her carrera as an actress as early as the 2nd grade, appearing on stage as such prestigious venues as Village Theater, Harlequin Productions and Open Door Theater. She quickly moved into film and discovered a certain flair for the macabre genre of horrors and thrillers. She has appeared in 45 film projects in Seattle. Among these films she can be seen in the soon to be released SHADOWED created by Seattle's own Joey Johnson and Jeremy Bell's REUNION. Durring her downtime of rehearsals last summer she noticed the plethora of talented and forward speaking women that surrounded her- without enough jobs to share between them. So she began to write. Flash forward past 8 months of feverish dedication and Alison is hosting a public readings of her original screenplay to gather invaluable audience feedback. Suffice it to say that her script captivated her audience. There were genuine laugh out loud moments coupled with absolute terror that made the audience cringe. The script was incredible. The positive responses were overwhelming. It was time to make it into a movie.
The Producer: Erin Neal has been on set since she was 6 months old, crying on camera with Jack Lemon in MASS APPEAL. Learning hands on under the supervision of her mother (it's a family business after all), Erin tried her hand on the sets of HARD EIGHT, DIAMONDS and THE RING. There wasn't a job title she hadn't experienced by the time she was 20, including Visual FX Assistant on ANNA AND THE KING, 2nd AD for independent coming of age drama THE FLATS and lead Camera-op and video Supervisor for the classica car race documentary JUNKYARD TO FINISHLINE. Along side of her husband and business partner, Director Collin Joseph Neal, she has produced over a dozen short films in the last year including Steam-Punk Western IN THOSE WE TRUST.
